Chapter 202
Sienna tugged at her lips, as expected. Fortunately, she had a backup plan. She'd made a prior agreement with Yvette, so she hadn't needed to use it yet. Earlier that morning, before giving Rosie's phone to Yvette, she'd made a copy of the video Rosie had taken. Yvette hadn't noticed. Smartphones are advanced, but Sienna hadn't uploaded or transferred anything. Instead, she'd rerecorded the video and saved it to her cloud storage.
Sienna took a deep breath, opened the video, and showed it to Josiah. "Could you please take a look at this?"
"What—" Josiah began, casually glancing at the phone. His brow furrowed. He thought, Yvette pushed Sienna? Is this the truth? Is Sienna hurt?
"You…" Josiah started to speak, but Sienna interrupted. Putting away her phone, she said, "The Flynn Group owns East Entertainment. You know what would happen if this video got out. Let Rosie go, and I promise to destroy it."
Josiah was confused. She wasn't showing him the video because she was wronged; she was using it to leverage Rosie's release. Sienna curved her lips into a smile. "As long as Rosie is released, I keep my promise…"
"Who gives you the right?" Josiah moved closer, almost embracing her. His eyes flashed with displeasure. "To threaten me?"
Sienna's expression stiffened. "Do you want Yvette's reputation and future, or do you want Rosie to take the blame and go to jail for Yvette? You decide!"
Her heart hardened, Sienna met his gaze without fear. "I really don't want to do this, but since you care so much about Yvette, this is the only choice."
Josiah abruptly raised his hand, pressing his thumb against her lips. He couldn't bear to hear her anymore. She keeps talking about how much I care about Yvette, even using videos to threaten me. Yet she can't see who I'm doing all this for? he thought, frustrated. Feeling stifled, he loosened his tie, struggling to breathe.
Sienna looked at him in confusion. Meanwhile, Josiah's new girlfriend in the driver's seat turned, pouting but hesitant to show her anger. "Mr. Flynn…" she softly reminded him.
"Soon," Josiah replied.
The girlfriend shuddered. "Mr. Flynn, we've arrived." The car had stopped without him noticing. Zach tapped twice on the window. "Mr. Flynn, we're here."
Josiah, full of anger, composed himself, let go of Sienna, and exited the car. His girlfriend quickly followed, nervously touching his arm. Seeing them leave, Sienna caught up. "Josiah, about earlier… is it a deal?"
Josiah paused, slightly raising his eyes. "Let me think about it." He walked away, his girlfriend still holding his arm.
Sienna was taken aback. Does he really need to think? Especially when it concerns Yvette? How long will it take? she wondered. Every minute means another day of suffering for Rosie. What should I do?
A man turned and gestured to her. "Mr. Flynn wants you to wait inside, please."
"Alright, thank you," Sienna said, feeling a flicker of hope. He cares about Yvette. He's keeping me waiting, not agreeing immediately, making me anxious… it's his way of letting Yvette vent her frustration.
Later, at a banquet, Sienna found a corner, occasionally watching Josiah. She squinted at his new girlfriend. She seems familiar, like someone I've seen on TV. Another pretty woman like Yvette. If she's from a wealthy family, she wouldn't act so submissively. She might as well have "Mr. Flynn, I'm so well-behaved" written on her forehead. Sienna lacked time for TV, so she couldn't place her.
Secretly, Sienna took a picture of the woman, zoomed in, and used image search. She murmured, "Maggie… what a nice name. Only twenty years old? So young…" After searching online, she opened Instagram and typed in "Maggie." She found Maggie's profile: a rising star at East Entertainment. Which means she's Josiah's employee. An opportunity presents itself. Sienna thought about Maggie's recent exposure and how Yvette had reduced her workload. Maggie is being groomed to take over Yvette's role, right? Wouldn't it be something if the makeup artist’s less scrupulous side was exposed?
