Chapter 255

Yosef couldn't stand watching. "Look at you, a man completely controlled by a young girl," he said.

Josiah, relaxed and chuckling, replied, "You just don't understand. When you get a girlfriend, you'll get it." He urged them to leave. "Go on, I'm not going to see you out." Once they left, Josiah quickly returned to the office.

In the lounge, Sienna was already asleep in bed. The blankets were warm and cozy, her cheeks flushed as she dozed. Josiah couldn't resist giving her a gentle nudge, waking her. "Are you done?" he asked.

Josiah nodded with a smile. "All done. Come on, wake up. Don't fall asleep or you won't be able to sleep tonight."

"What do you know! Sleeping is the best beauty treatment," Sienna yawned, sitting up and mumbling. She had been feeling unusually sleepy these past few days. She thought, 'It's probably still the side effects of the medication. If it is pregnancy symptoms, will they even show up this quickly?'

Given the last mix-up, Sienna was much more careful this time. Dr. Nelson mentioned that a blood test eleven to fifteen days after ovulation was the safest option.

Sienna got up and put on a sweater while Josiah grabbed a brush to comb her hair. He loved her long, jet-thick hair with its slight natural wave. Hair salons couldn't even recreate this retro vibe; it was gentle yet alluring and feminine.

"Dinner out tonight? What do you feel like eating?" Josiah asked.

Sienna nodded. "Sure, I'd like some meat."

"Tasty Bites or Cozyroom?" Josiah asked.

"Tasty Bites," Sienna replied.

Josiah immediately understood. "Craving their desserts? We need to tell the chef in advance; I'll give them a call."

After he made the call, Sienna was ready. They took the direct elevator to the garage and headed to Tasty Bites. Josiah parked the car while Sienna waited at the entrance.

This winter was cold in Jelacrity, where it often snowed. Today was no different. Little snowflakes had fallen off and on throughout the day, and as night came, the snow seemed heavier. Sienna lightly stomped her feet in her deerskin boots.

A silver-gray Pagani pulled up. Reyna got out, smiled at the person inside, and said, "I'll wait for you here." Then, she closed the car door, and the Pagani drove into the garage. Sienna noticed the license plate and her heart sank. It was Cedric's car. Confused, she frowned. She was sure she hadn't been mistaken last time; Reyna was indeed with Cedric. She thought, "What's the relationship between Cedric and Reyna? Are they acquaintances? Friends? A couple?"

Josiah parked the car and jogged over, wrapping his arm around Sienna. "Sienna, it's freezing out here; why didn't you wait for me inside?"

"It's alright. I haven't waited long," Sienna said.

"Let's go inside," Josiah said.

"Okay," Sienna nodded with a smile, maintaining her usual calm demeanor, and walked inside with him.

That night, the outside was filled with biting winds and heavy snow. Inside Silver Beach, it was as warm as spring. Josiah placed Sienna on the bed. She had been quite clingy these past few days, but he didn't mind; he liked it. If life could continue like this forever, that wouldn't be so bad. He pulled the covers over her, tucked her in, and leaned down to kiss her. "Sienna."

"Hmm?" Sienna mumbled, unable to lift her eyelids. "Let's sleep. I'm tired."

Josiah thought, What does she think I was going to do? He smirked and asked, "Red, blue, yellow, white. Which color do you like the most?" Sienna squinted her eyes open. "Why are you asking that?"

"Just curious, answer quickly," Josiah said.

"Red," she replied, unsure why he asked.

Josiah remembered that her down jacket and coat were both red. Red truly suited Sienna, he murmured. "Red. I'll keep that in mind."

On such a quiet night, he thought about getting married. His first marriage with Sienna hadn't gone well. He had talked to her about marriage before, but she hadn't agreed. Thinking about it now, it was his fault. Bringing up something as important as marriage so flippantly showed a lack of seriousness. He wouldn't do that again. He would carefully plan everything, starting with the proposal, making sure not to overlook anything. He thought, Sienna likes red. So, for the engagement ring, I should choose her favorite red diamond.

At noon, Sienna had lunch at the cafeteria and brought a meal back for Rosie. "Thanks," Rosie said with a smile.

"You're welcome," Sienna replied.

Rosie had just started working today. All her other injuries were healing well, but the bruising around her eye sockets, even though she could see, hadn't yet disappeared. Trying to avoid her coworkers' probing questions and gossip, Rosie decided to stay in her workspace. Fortunately, she had Sienna to help her. Opening her lunchbox, Rosie smiled. "Today's food looks great."

Sienna twisted off the yogurt bottle cap and placed it beside her. "Your favorite blueberry flavor."

"Thanks," Rosie replied.

"Rosie, Rosie!" A male voice called from outside, sounding impatient and frustrated.

Rosie's face went pale, and she quickly stood up, gripping Sienna's hand nervously. "It's Daniel! He found me; he tracked me down to the dance troupe!"

Sienna let out a cold laugh. "You were hurt and in the hospital, and he didn't visit. Why come now? Don't worry, I'll go check it out." Before she finished speaking, the door was forcefully pushed open. Both women froze and looked up.

Daniel, with a grim expression, walked over to Rosie and grabbed her wrist. "Finally found you, Rosie! Where have you been these last few days?" Rosie bit her lower lip and raised her chin defiantly. "Where I go, what does it have to do with you?"

"Rosie!" Daniel snapped, bursting out furiously. "Aren't you ashamed? You're married, disappearing like that. Tell me! Which man have you been messing around with?"

Rosie's face drained of color. She spoke shakily, "Daniel, is that really how you see me?"

"Aren't you?" Daniel yelled, angry veins bulging on his forehead. "You're the first to cheat on your husband on your wedding night!"

Rosie froze, unable to respond. Tears silently fell down her face. "Daniel, let's get a divorce."

The room went silent. Daniel seemed not to have heard her. "What did you say?"

Rosie took a deep breath and gathered her courage. "Let's get a divorce." Before she could finish, Daniel raised his arm and slapped her.

Sienna was startled and rushed forward to grab him. "What are you doing? Let her go! Let go!"

"Who do you think you are?" Daniel spun around, his eyes vicious. "Mind your own business! You're asking for trouble!" He flung his arm, sending Sienna flying. At the same time, he forcefully grabbed Rosie's hair. "Divorce? What right do you have to talk about divorce with me?"
