Chapter 256

Daniel dragged Rosie by the hair, pulling her out. Rosie cried out in pain. "Daniel, you bastard! You suspect me of cheating, but what about you? Do you ever go a day without cheating? I want a divorce! You're disgusting!"

"What did you say?" Daniel stopped abruptly, staring at Rosie with an expressionless face. "I didn't hear you."

Rosie's hair was messy, her makeup smeared with tears. She couldn't endure another day. Glaring at him, she seemed ready to die. "Daniel, you're disgusting! Truly disgusting!"

With a scream, Daniel raised his fist and struck her. "Disgusting?" he roared, losing control. He punched her mercilessly, waving his arms. "You think I'm disgusting? Say it again! Say it!!!"

Sienna ran in, throwing herself onto his back. "Stop it! Stop it!"

Colleagues, alerted by the commotion, emerged from the locker rooms, lounges, and practice rooms, gossiping amongst themselves. Terrified, Sienna cried, "Call security! He's going to kill her! Hurry!"

Security arrived, shouting, "Hey, what are you doing?" They restrained Daniel. He roared, breaking free, then pointed at Rosie. "Rosie, listen! You made my life a joke! We should both rot in hell!"

Sienna rushed to Rosie's side. "Are you okay?"

Rosie's face was bruised and swollen. Grabbing Sienna's hand, she whispered, "It hurts so much!"

Sienna hugged her, tears streaming down her face. "Can someone call an ambulance?"

"Let me do it," someone offered. "It's done."

At the hospital, Sienna accompanied Rosie from the ambulance. "Sienna," a voice called. She looked up, surprised to see Howard holding Bobby. He'd just finished Bobby's vaccination. Seeing Sienna, then Rosie on the stretcher, his heart lurched. He thought, Something's happened to her again.

"Howard, I don't have time to talk now. Rosie needs the emergency room," Sienna said, hurrying inside.

Howard handed Bobby to Hervey. "Bobby, be good and go with Uncle Hervey. Daddy has something to do and will be back later."

"Bye-bye, Daddy," Bobby waved his chubby hand.

"Bye," Howard replied.

Inside the emergency center, Rosie was wheeled into surgery. Sienna stood guard. "Sienna," Howard said.

"Howard," Sienna replied, surprised.

Howard nodded. "I'm here to see if I can help."

"Not yet," Sienna said. Rosie had just been admitted. "It's okay."

Howard understood. "I'll wait with you. It's not easy for a girl like you to make these decisions alone."

Sienna pursed her lips. "Thank you." She thought, Howard is so kind. He's still the same. He'll never ignore someone in need.

A sense of security washed over Sienna. The emergency room door opened, and a doctor emerged.

"Doctor," Sienna asked, "How is my friend?"

The doctor frowned. "Everything's fine except her eyes. Where is her family? This is serious, and no one is here?"

Sienna was speechless. How can I explain she was beaten by her husband?

"Let's get the hospitalization procedures done first," the doctor said.

"Okay," they replied.

Howard handled the paperwork and secured a private room. Rosie lay in bed, bandaged from head to toe, especially around her eyes. The doctor warned of possible sight loss. Rosie leaned against the headboard, reaching out. "Sienna? Where are you? Why is it so dark?"

Sienna's voice choked with sobs. Rosie froze, sensing something was wrong. Touching her eyes, she asked, "My eyes?"

"Am I blind, Sienna? Tell me, am I blind?"

Sienna choked back a sob, her silence answering the question.

"I'm blind," Rosie whispered. "I'm blind..."

Sienna tried to comfort her. "It's not certain. Your eyes are just swollen."

"Really?" Rosie ripped off the bandage. "Let me see..."

"Rosie!" Sienna cried.

"I can't see anything," Rosie said, her eyes refusing to open. "Sienna, I'm blind."

"Rosie, calm down," Sienna pleaded.

"Get a doctor!" Rosie stumbled towards the door.

"Rosie!" Sienna cried.

The door opened. Howard entered. Rosie, unable to see, mistook him for the doctor. She grabbed him. "Doctor, help me! Please look at my eyes."

Howard's jaw tightened. "Okay," he said, striking the back of her neck.

Rosie's eyelids drooped, and she slumped forward. Howard caught her, lifting her gently.

"Howard!" Sienna cried.

"Lift the blanket," he instructed.

"Okay," Sienna replied.

Howard laid Rosie on the bed. Sienna said, "Thank you. I don't know what I would have done without you."

Howard frowned, looking at Rosie. Her husband beat her like this. She can't stay with him. If this continues, she will die.
