Chapter 851

When Rachel heard that, she thought back to the last time Cecilia had kept reassuring her, saying she was fine, that she had already made peace with everything.

But when it came to life and death, who could really make peace with it?

The only solution now was to move quickly and make sure this treatment went through. Rachel was willing to do anything as long as Cecilia could recover.

โ€œIโ€™ll call her later to calm her down, but I really need you to look after her more on your side. I canโ€™t be in two places at once right now,โ€ Rachel said.

She always believed she could handle things on her own, especially when problems piled up. But this time, it felt like the weight of everything had been dropped right onto her shoulders.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll handle things here. You just focus on whatโ€™s in front of you,โ€ Tyler said firmly.

As long as he covered her back, Rachel wouldnโ€™t have to worry about what was happening over there.

He wanted to talk to her a little longer, but when he glanced at his watch, it really was late.

โ€œGet some rest. And donโ€™t push yourself too hard with Elias. If it really doesnโ€™t work out, Iโ€™ll send someone to step in.โ€

He knew how she was always chasing perfection, and he was worried that she was putting too much pressure on herself.

Only then did they finally hang up.

Rachel lay down, her mind still racing with ways to help Cecilia, until she drifted off in a daze.

She set her alarm for half past seven the next morning. Still half-asleep, she glanced at the time, freshened up, and got ready to head to the main company.

She didnโ€™t tell Yale or Jerry. This was something she had to face herself. Bringing more people along wouldnโ€™t help.

As she stepped out of the hotel, she was surprised to see a familiar car waiting. The window rolled down, revealing Markโ€™s handsome face and mischievous smile.

He tapped on the passenger seat.

โ€œHop in, Rach. Time for you to try out my new ride.โ€

Rachel was a little surprised. โ€œWhat are you doing here?โ€

Mark twirled his car keys. The morning sunlight shone over his hair, giving him that carefree, cocky air.

โ€œI figured someone was heading to the main company this morning to turn herself in. Thought Iโ€™d volunteer as your chauffeur.โ€

He paused before reaching for a bag on the seat next to him.

โ€œBut first things first. If youโ€™re going to confess to your crimes, youโ€™d better have something in your stomach.โ€

Rachel took it carefully. When she looked inside, she smiled. It was her favorite donut.

โ€œFrom that same place, right? But donโ€™t you have to line up early in the morning just to get these?โ€

Mark snorted. โ€œDo you really think Iโ€™d wait in line myself?โ€

Rachel remembered his old tricks and smiled wryly.

โ€œLet me guess. You sent one of your fangirls to do it for you again. Mark, donโ€™t you feel bad about that? I canโ€™t even enjoy these in peace.โ€

She had gotten used to his antics long ago.

Back then, he always had girls chasing after him and eager to run errands for him. Theyโ€™d line up for breakfast or scramble to buy concert tickets on his behalf. Most of the time, it was their idea, not his.

But Rachel still didnโ€™t like it. She had told him off a few times, but it never made a difference.

Eventually, she just gave up.

It was his private affair, after all. To be fair, he never took advantage of them for nothing. Whenever they did something for him, he always gave them a tip.
