Chapter 928

It wasnโ€™t in Rachelโ€™s style to strike someone who was being nice to her. She didnโ€™t want to embarrass the aunt in front of so many people, which would only make her look impolite.

So she said with a smile, โ€œThank you, Aunt Polly.โ€

She took a small bite of the sweet potato, which melted in her mouth and tasted heavenly.

Tyler sat by her side, tucking a lock of hair that came free behind her ear. He picked up a glass of warm water on the table and handed it to her.

โ€œTake it easy. Donโ€™t choke.โ€

He turned to Polly and said in a voice that sounded much better-natured than usual, โ€œThank you for that. Sheโ€™s been very picky with food lately and enjoys mild-tasting foods like this.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t mention it!โ€ Polly said with a wave of her hand.

Her gaze landed on Rachelโ€™s stomach.

With a slight tinge of regret in her voice, she added, โ€œI used to speak my mind without a second thought. Please donโ€™t take it to heart. It was tough on you in the past. Have you two chosen your wedding outfits?โ€

โ€œYes, we have. Tyler will be wearing an embroidered dark navy blue suit.โ€

Rachel pulled out her phone and showed Polly the photos of them trying out their outfits. โ€œLook, we took these photos while trying out the gown and suit. The seamstress even mentioned adding some sequins on the bodice to accentuate the curves.โ€

โ€œWow, the material looks excellent!โ€

Polly pointed at the screen as she leaned in close.

โ€œItโ€™s satin, isnโ€™t it? The needlework is so delicate, itโ€™s hard to find such an excellent seamstress nowadays. I wanted something like this when I was married, but it was a pity I couldnโ€™t afford it back then. I had to wear something frumpy. I regret it till this day.โ€

โ€œAunt Polly, if you like it so much, you can help me out when I change into the dress,โ€ Rachel offered. โ€œYou can help me check whether I wear the gown correctly or not. You have experience in this, so Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll be more familiar than I am.โ€

โ€œThat sounds like a great idea!โ€ Polly exclaimed, her eyes twinkling. She turned around and called another aunt. โ€œZelda, come and take a look at how grand Rachelโ€™s wedding gown is!โ€

Zelda was peeling an orange for Willow, Tylerโ€™s cousin. She walked over with a smile and a half-peeled orange in hand, which she handed to Rachel.

โ€œHere, have some oranges. I deliberately picked sour ones. I adored them when I was carrying Willow. I had to switch to eating apples when the doctor told me to cut down on eating oranges.โ€

Rachel took the orange from Zelda and ate a slice. The tanginess of the fruit spread.

The tartness wasnโ€™t usually something people enjoyed, but to Rachel, it was perfect.

โ€œThank you, Aunt Zelda. Iโ€™ve been having cravings for sour foods recently. Tyler had to run to three supermarkets yesterday to search for barely ripe oranges that I love.โ€

โ€œMen should learn from him!โ€ Zelda said approvingly as she patted Tyler on his arm. โ€œYou know how to dote on your wife. Thatโ€™s already much better than my husband! Remember, donโ€™t let Rachel get too exhausted while pregnant. Outsource the wedding planning if you have to. Itโ€™s more important for her to focus on the baby right now.โ€

Tyler nodded as he rubbed his finger on the back of Rachelโ€™s hand. โ€œIโ€™ve got it all arranged. Yale will be overseeing everything. All Rachel needs to do is pick the wedding favors and the wedding invitation card design.โ€

โ€œHow thoughtful of you!โ€ Willow said as she leaned into their conversation.

Her phone was in her hand, with pictures of wedding venue decorations on the screen.

โ€œRachel, look at this design style, with beautiful lanterns hanging on the tree. Itโ€™ll surely look mesmerizing at night. I wanted this for my wedding, but my husband rejected the idea. Iโ€™m still nagging at him about it.โ€

Rachelโ€™s eyes lit up when she saw the photo. โ€œThis looks good! I want some flowers at the wedding venue, too. My mom loved planting flowers and said they always convey special meanings.โ€
