Chapter 135: Don't Deny Me
The hair dryer was quite loud, so Bella didn't notice Dominic approach. She jumped when he hugged her from behind. Her panicked expression showed she'd overreacted, though she was genuinely shocked. "Why aren't you eating? Why are you here?" she asked.
Dominic took the hair dryer, switched it off, and set it down. He closed the bathroom door.
Bella's heart pounded as she broke free from his embrace. "My hair's almost dry. Let's go eat!" Dominic pulled her back, lifted her chin, and gently traced her lips. "Didn't I tell you to stop hiding from me?"
Looking into his eyes, Bella blushed. "I'm not—"
His voice was hoarse. "Do you know how seductive you look right now?"
Before she could respond, he kissed her. She stood on tiptoe, hands on his chest, trying to pull away. "Don't…"
He pushed her against the wall. "Don't deny me."
His words were a command, erasing her rationality. Lost in passion, Bella was in a daze.
Afterwards, they cleaned up and left the bathroom. Bella had no appetite, so she went to her room. She worried all night, fearing it would be their last time. The next day, she left early to avoid Dominic.
As a doctor, she knew the risks of unprotected sex and took precautions. She went to the hospital pharmacy for birth control pills, anxious because she hadn't used them the first time. She told herself it was fine since it had only happened once.
Returning to her office, she ran into Ian, dropping her pills. He picked them up, amused. "You shouldn't take these so often. Ask Dom to be more careful…"
Embarrassed, Bella nervously retrieved the pills and pocketed them. "Don't tell him," she frowned. Ian shrugged. "I won't volunteer information, but if Dom asks, I'll be honest."
Exasperated, Bella said, "Why would he ask? I'm doing this for his sake, to avoid complications. Am I wrong? I need to get back to work."
Ian stopped her. "Do you know why I work here?"
Bella was confused. "Why?"
He paused. "The salary wasn't enough. Dominic asked me to. Because you're here."
