Chapter 220

“Mr. Rhodes isn’t even married. If he was, it’d be all over the news. If you’re gonna make shit up, at least make it believable,” Jack scoffed.

As he spoke, he started dragging Tamia toward the changing room.

Tamia fought back hard but couldn’t break free from his grip.

Anastasia tried to help, but Tamia yelled, “Ana, run! Don’t worry about me!”

Her eyes were screaming for Anastasia to go get help and forget about her.

“How noble of you, Ms. Summer,” Jack sneered.

He yanked Tamia into the changing room.

Anastasia stumbled forward, about to bolt for help, when she heard Tamia scream in pain.

Then came the sickening thud of a body slamming into something hard.

Anastasia’s heart stopped. She frantically looked around and spotted a fire extinguisher behind emergency glass.

Without thinking twice, she smashed the glass and grabbed it.

The second she pulled it out, fire alarms started shrieking everywhere.

Anastasia didn’t give a damn. She charged into the changing room with the extinguisher.

She blasted Jack with foam until he couldn’t see shit. Tamia seized the moment and drove her knee straight into his balls, snarling, “That’s what you get for trying to rape me, you sick fuck!”

Jack crumpled to the floor, writhing like a wounded animal.

“You okay?” Anastasia panted.

Tamia bit her lip and nodded, even though her back was killing her from being slammed against the wall. She didn’t want Ana to worry. “I’m good.”

Neither of them expected Jack to go down so easily—one hit and he was completely fucked.

When they emerged from the changing room, Cassian, Yinsen, and Griffin were all standing there waiting.

“How did you guys… get here so fast?” Anastasia stammered, mortified that they’d witnessed this clusterfuck.

She was also terrified that Cassian might be pissed.

“You should check on that pervert in there,” Tamia cut in. “He tried to assault us, so we gave him what he deserved.”

Yinsen and Griffin went inside and found Jack unconscious on the floor with blood pooling between his legs. They both winced and instinctively covered their own junk.

“Jesus Christ, did she destroy his balls?” Yinsen whispered.

Griffin grimaced. “Looks like it. Guy passed out from the pain. What else could it be?”

“I’ll take care of this mess,” Griffin said.

When they came back out, Tamia looked at them desperately.

Griffin gestured downward. “Definitely shattered. Blood everywhere.”

Tamia’s jaw dropped. She hadn’t hit him that hard… had she? Maybe the adrenaline made her go full beast mode without realizing it?

“Which one of you did the damage? That’s some serious power right there,” Yinsen said with grudging respect.

Just as Tamia opened her mouth to confess, Anastasia jumped in. “It was me. I’m the one who kicked him.”

Yinsen looked at Cassian with pure sympathy, his eyes drifting to Cassian’s crotch.

Poor bastard better watch himself around Anastasia, or he’ll end up like Jack.

Tamia stared at Anastasia in total confusion.

Anastasia leaned in and whispered, “You don’t know anything, okay? He dragged me in there and I defended myself. That’s the story. Got it?”

Anastasia had gotten the lowdown on Jack earlier. He was from New York too. While Jack himself was small-time, his wife was bad news.

Word was that Jack’s wife came from a family of criminals who’d clawed their way up through violence and intimidation.

Apparently, she was psychotic and ruthless—the type who’d literally kill people who crossed her.

If she found out her husband got his nuts crushed, she’d definitely want blood.

Tamia was just a regular working girl who could easily disappear without a trace.

But Anastasia was different—she was Cassian Rhodes’s wife. Those psychos should be scared of her.

Plus, Anastasia was partly responsible anyway. If she hadn’t blinded Jack with the fire extinguisher, Tamia never could’ve landed that brutal hit.

Tamia looked at Anastasia, her throat tight with emotion.

She got what Ana was doing, but could she really let her take the fall?

Everyone already believed Anastasia was responsible though, so they were all scrambling to fix the situation.

Tamia felt a stab of pain realizing that if people knew she’d done it, they probably wouldn’t be so eager to help.

“Hotel security can handle this shit. Let’s bounce,” Griffin said.

Cassian took Anastasia’s hand and said softly, “Want to walk with me?”

“Yeah, sure.”

Yinsen and Griffin watched Cassian and Anastasia stroll along the beach like some cheesy rom-com and rolled their eyes. “Ever since Cassian got whipped, he’s become boring as hell.”

“For real. Beach walks? Might as well play some cards instead,” Griffin groaned.

“Cards?”

Tamia had been sipping water to calm down when she heard them mention cards and suddenly perked up.

“You play?” Yinsen asked.

“Didn’t used to, but work forced me to learn everything to kiss clients’ asses. Poker, blackjack, Texas Hold’em—whatever you want.”

“Damn, we got ourselves a hustler,” Griffin and Yinsen exchanged looks. Usually it was just their boring crew, and they’d gotten sick of the same old games.

Fresh blood was exactly what they needed.

“Let’s fucking do this.”

“Cool, just let me finish hydrating first,” Tamia said.

Yinsen snorted. “After chugging half the Pacific earlier, you’re still thirsty?”

“Ocean water’s basically a toilet. Probably got some bonus protein floating around in there. Gotta rinse that nasty taste out,” Griffin added helpfully.

“Ew—pfft!”

Tamia had just taken a gulp and couldn’t help herself—she sprayed it everywhere.

“What the hell?”

Yinsen had quick reflexes and dodged most of it, but Griffin got a face full of Tamia’s backwash.

“Mmm, minty fresh,” Yinsen cackled.

“Oh, you want some mouthwash? I got plenty more where that came from,” Griffin threatened, taking a huge mouthful of water.

The two idiots started having a full-blown water fight like they were twelve years old.

Tamia watched them splash around, shaking her head in disbelief. These ruthless business titans were basically overgrown frat boys when nobody was watching.

“Hold up, gorgeous! Let me grab a clean shirt and then I’m gonna destroy you at cards!” Griffin called out as he ran off.

“Dude, watch your mouth or Ana’s gonna hear you and turn your balls into mush too!” Yinsen yelled after him.

“Don’t even joke about that shit!”

Griffin practically sprinted away.

That’s when Yinsen noticed Tamia staring at him intently.

He crossed his arms defensively. “Oh hell no. Please tell me you’re not catching feelings. I’m too young and beautiful to die!”
