And now, he could see it clearly–his mother truly liked the girl he loved. When it came to Aurora, Diana made no attempt to hide her feelings.

Edward and Lucas exchanged a glance, both catching the same look of relief in each other’s eyes.

Edward couldn’t help but think to himself that his son had really grown up.

And just like that, Aurora found herself staying behind almost without realizing it. Even when she stepped into the living room, it still felt a little unreal.

Hadn’t they said they were leaving after dinner?

They had even walked all the way to the car yet somehow ended up turning back and returning to the house.

The thought left her a little stunned.

Diana, however, was overjoyed.

She held Aurora’s hand and walked ahead, while Edward and Lucas followed behind, one on each side, watching the woman they both cherished walk into the house.

It wasn’t until Aurora caught sight of the bright smile on Diana’s face that everything began to feel real.

So, there were mothers in this world who could stand entirely on her side.

Why then had her own mother always chosen to take the other child’s part?

The thought brought a faint ache to her heart.

The next moment, something was pressed into her hand.

Before she could react, Aurora only felt the smooth, cool weight of it against her palm.

Edward and Lucas exchanged another glance, though his son remained calm, as if he had already expected this.

Aurora asked softly, “Mom, what is this?”

“Aurora, take it without worry. This is our gift to a daughter–in–law when we first meet her.”

“A gift?”

Lowering her gaze, Aurora saw the emerald bracelet glowing with a soft green light in her hand.

Even without slipping it onto her wrist, she could feel its flawless clarity, the cool stone bringing a calm, soothing comfort just by holding it.

From the weight of it alone, Aurora could easily guess that the emerald bracelet was worth a fortune.

“Mom, this is too valuable. I can’t accept it,” she refused instinctively.

But Diana feigned displeasure. “Child, what does expensive have to do with anything? This is the gift I give to my daughter–in–law. You’ve already married into our family–do you really think I’d shortchange you? If word of this got out, where would my dignity go?”

Aurora hesitated at how seriously Diana spoke, but still felt it wasn’t right to accept something so precious.

Just as she was about to refuse again, Lucas spoke from the side. “Take it. This is the Carter family’s heirloom bracelet. By giving it to you, Mom is showing she’s truly accepted you from the bottom of her heart.”

Hearing that, Aurora’s chest filled with emotion.

She hadn’t expected that after only one meeting, she could leave such a deep impression on Diana.

Even now, she was still a little stunned, her rosy lips parting slightly.

The sight of her delicate expression made Lucas suppress a smile.

“That’s right, listen to Lucas. Accept it, don’t argue with me, or I really will get upset,” Diana added, following her son’s words.

Aurora turned her head and saw Edward watching her with an encouraging gaze.
