Chapter 467

Just as Leonard was still lost in thought, Auroraโ€™s conversation with the client suddenly came to a halt. He was puzzled for a moment, then noticed Auroraโ€™s gaze fixed on something in the distance. Following her line of sight, he caught a glimpse of Lucas having lunch with another woman. The moment registered, and Leonard instinctively turned to see Auroraโ€™s reaction. But in the very next second, she had already composed herself, seamlessly returning to the discussion.

โ€œWeโ€™re currently in collaboration with LC International. This outlines the trajectory and strategic direction of our partnership.โ€

She continued, โ€œAnd hereโ€™s a breakdown of our future development goals. Your firm might find some of these concepts worth referencing.โ€ Aurora laid out the documents one by one, calm and composed, as if sheโ€™d never been distracted at all.

Seeing that, Leonard had no choice but to suppress his urge to press further. Now wasnโ€™t the time. They were negotiating with a major client, after all.

The man across the table, seeing Auroraโ€™s poise and sincerity, was clearly moved. โ€œAll right. Iโ€™ll take all of this back and review it thoroughly,โ€ he said, pushing up his glasses. โ€œBut you should know that Iโ€™m just the liaison. The final call isnโ€™t mine. I hope you understand that, Miss Walton.โ€

Aurora smiled. โ€œOf course, I understand. Donโ€™t worry, just build the bridge and make the introductions. When the time comes, youโ€™ll find itโ€™s more than worth your while.โ€

Everyone at that table was sharp enough to understand exactly what she meant. And equally sharp enough to pretend they hadnโ€™t heard it. Leonard glanced sideways at Aurora, only to find her as composed as ever, calmly focused on the negotiation without missing a beat. He couldnโ€™t help but admire her. Aurora really had seen it all. Even in a moment like this, she didnโ€™t bat an eye.

What he didnโ€™t know was that, under the table, her other hand was already slick with sweat. She didnโ€™t even know whyโ€”just for that brief moment, seeing Lucas having lunch with Wendy made her feel like she was about to explode. But thankfully, logic had taken control in the end. Reason won, and she held herself together.

โ€œOver here!โ€ A womanโ€™s voice rang out suddenly.

Everyone turned in the direction of the voice, Leonard included. It was someone neither of them had ever seen before. One glance at each other, and it was clear that they had no idea who she was.

Finally, Leonard spoke up. โ€œAlright, Aurora, youโ€™ve already handed over all the materials and documentation, havenโ€™t you? The restโ€ฆ well, weโ€™ve done all we can. Now itโ€™s up to fate.โ€ There was no point in lingering any longer.

โ€œYouโ€™re right. Iโ€™ve done everything I could. Now itโ€™s up to their company to decide.โ€

Leonard took a deep breath and said, โ€œAlright then, letโ€™s head back. Are you going back to Walton this afternoon?โ€

โ€œYeah, I still need to drop by Walton Corporation. Thanks again for everything today.โ€ Aurora smiled as she spoke. That single โ€œthank youโ€ instantly created a subtle distance between the two of them.
