Chapter 55
In the next moment, she realized with a start that Samuel was shielding her. She didn't resist, allowing him to hold her. Samuel glanced at Whitney, who held a little girl, and made introductions: "This is my brother-in-law, Mr. Ximenes, and his daughter, Rachana."
Isabella gave a slight nod to Whitney. "Hello, Whitney." But as she spoke, her gaze instinctively shifted to Rachana. She thought, What an adorable little girl!
Whitney, a bit puzzled, looked at Samuel and asked, "And this is?"
Samuel's grip on Isabella's hand tightened slightly before he responded, "This is my wife, Isabella."
Whitney was momentarily taken aback. He thought, Is this Samuel's wife? The girl Sarah so disdained? He discreetly observed her for a moment. She seems perfectly fine. Confident, composed. Whitney quickly recovered and smiled warmly at Isabella. "Hello."
The little girl, however, looked up at Isabella and softly asked Whitney, "Daddy, is this Samuel's wife?" Before Whitney could answer, Sarah, from the hospital bed, spoke up, "Rachana, don't speak recklessly." Chided by her mother, the little girl obediently nestled back against Whitney's shoulder. But her round, sparkling eyes stayed fixed on Isabella.
So cute, Isabella thought, feeling her heart soften towards the child. Yet, knowing Sarah disliked her, Isabella said nothing.
Samuel lifted his gaze to Sarah, then to Hoy. "I've brought a doctor."
A wave of relief swept through everyone present. They thought, Samuel has an extensive network; the doctor he brought will surely be reliable. Gwenna's face lit up with a smile as she eagerly stepped toward Samuel. "Where is the doctor?"
All eyes were on Samuel, waiting for his response. But Samuel gently pulled Isabella forward. "Bella is the doctor."
Everyone frowned. Hoy immediately shouted, "Nonsense!" He pointed angrily at Samuel. "Take her and leave!" How could he joke about something so serious? Hoy thought, his temper flaring.
The atmosphere in the room grew cold. Even Gwenna looked at Samuel with disapproval. "Samuel, I've agreed with you on many things, but this is your sister" She thought, I liked Bella, but this concerns her daughter's life.
Although Whitney said nothing, his disapproving gaze remained fixed on Samuel. Sarah gripped her mother's hand tightly. "Mom, they're playing with my life. I don't want her to treat me." Has this woman lost her mind? Sarah thought, her frustration building. She's so desperate to marry into the Howerton family that she's interfering with me.

Samuel stood his ground, holding Isabella's hand firmly. His eyes were locked on Hoy, unwavering. "If Bella can't cure her, no one in the world can."
Samuel's words rang out with resolute confidence, stunning everyone in the room. Josephine wondered, Has he gone mad? Does he really think so highly of Isabella? Doubt crept in, but it was soon followed by a more complex realization. They thought, Because Samuel never jokes about such matters, especially concerning his sister, with whom he shares a deep bond. He wouldn't lie.
Whitney hesitated, then stepped forward, his gaze now on Isabella. "Can you really heal her?" His voice was hoarse from sleepless nights, his eyes heavy with fatigue, but the question was sincere.
Isabella met his gaze, her voice steady. "Yes."
Whitney studied her determined expression for a long moment before nodding slowly. "Alright."
Sarah, from her hospital bed, looked at Whitney in disbelief. "Whitney, have you lost your mind? She knows nothing! You want her to treat me?" The warmth Sarah had felt earlier disappeared, replaced by growing anger. Whitney, though saddened by Sarah's outrage, remained stoic. "Sarah, I trust Samuel." He thought, Samuel might be cold, but family means everything to him. He wouldn't joke about something like this, especially not when it's about his own sister!
Gwenna furrowed her brows and stepped forward, her voice filled with doubt. "Son, what if we don't allow it?"
Samuel met her gaze, unyielding. "She must be here." Those four simple words were a declaration, not just of his support for Isabella, but of his unwavering trust in her. Gwenna was deeply shaken. After a moment, she softened her expression and nodded. "Alright, I agree." She then turned to Isabella and took her hand. "I'm leaving this in your hands." She thought, This is the person my son has chosen, and I trust her because I trust him.
Isabella felt a stir of emotion. She hadn't expected both Samuel and Gwenna to put so much faith in her. Few people would ever be trusted with something like this, she thought, deeply moved. She looked at Gwenna, her voice soft but firm. "Mrs. Howerton, I won't let your choice be a mistake." That was her promise.
Sarah, meanwhile, was in a state of shock. How could Mom agree with this? Her mind raced as she struggled to move, but her body refused to cooperate. Her voice was filled with panic. "What if she kills me?" Had it not been for her inherent grace, she would have already started yelling at Isabella. After all, it was her own life at stake.
Hoy clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles cracked. His voice was a harsh bark. "Enough! If you let her treat Sarah, I'll ruin"
Isabella, her patience wearing thin, swiftly pulled out a silver needle and, with a quick movement, inserted it into Hoy's body. Hoy's expression shifted immediately. Before he could lower his raised hand, he found himself completely immobile.

He couldn't even say the last word. What's happening? Hoy thought, panic setting in. He said, "Why can't I move? What did you do to me?"
The others in the room were equally stunned; none had expected Isabella to have such skills. Sarah, however, was furious. "Isabella, what exactly are you doing?!"
Only Samuel remained calm, watching in silence. He thought, I've heard of Queenie's reputation before, but I've never seen her in action. Impressive.
Gwenna, her brow deeply furrowed, stepped toward Hoy, her voice filled with concern. "Bella, what did you do to Hoy?" She thought, After all, he's old! What if something goes wrong? Gwenna was beginning to wonder if she had made a mistake supporting her son this time.
Isabella turned to her with a calm smile. "Don't worry, this needle just temporarily immobilizes him. It's actually good for his cardiovascular system." She thought, I know it's not the most respectful approach, but given the situation, it was the only way to shut him up. Besides, I've already observed Hoy's health for some time. He has some problems, and if I'd offered to treat him directly, he would never have agreed.
Gwenna glanced at Samuel; her surprise was evident. When she saw him nod, she sighed with relief and thought, Bella really does know what she's doing.
The little girl, Rachana, widened her eyes in amazement, her small face alight with wonder. "Wow, is Samuel's wife a superhero? This is just like in the movies!"
Isabella didn't immediately react to the term. She thought, Samuel's wife
Sarah's face darkened. "Sweetie, don't call her that. She's not Samuel's wife."
