Chapter 6

Office building, top floor.

Isabella knocked lightly on the office door. A clear voice called, "Come in." Isabella opened the door.

A man in a light blue suit sat at his desk, typing intently. George, twenty-seven and three years older than Isabella, often appeared to be her sibling. People mistook them for brother and sister—not because Isabella looked older, but because George had a youthful, soft face.

Isabella smirked. "Can't believe you still look like a teenager after three years."

George looked up in surprise. Isabella was dressed elegantly in a light purple strapless bodycon dress, her long hair cascading down her back. She carried a white handbag and wore white eight-centimeter stilettos. Her stunning figure, accentuated by simple makeup, was captivating.

George stood up, his face lighting up. "Queenie! You're here!"

The name "Queenie" would shock many. A top-notch doctor, she was a living legend who had vanished two years ago. George, her agent and lifelong partner, handled her medical affairs.

He approached Isabella; his excited expression, coupled with his youthful appearance, was slightly overwhelming.

She tugged at her lips. "You said it was urgent. Now that I'm here, you're making that face!"

George playfully scolded, "Isn't that because I called you a hundred times, and you finally showed up?" He rubbed his eyes. "I haven't seen you in two years! You finally appeared!" Frustrated, he placed a hand on her shoulder, worried she might leave.

Isabella's gaze softened. "Sorry. I was preoccupied before, but I'm clear-headed now. I'll be there whenever you need me."

She headed for the sofa. George quickly grabbed two juice bottles from the refrigerator, placing one in front of her. He sat opposite her, looking incredulous. "Clear-headed? So, you've given up on Jayden?"

Isabella shrugged nonchalantly, opened her juice, and took a sip. "If it's not mine, what do I have to fight for? Ten years of one-sided effort was tiring."

Jayden's success was partly due to Isabella's keen eye for scripts. She evaluated every script for his projects, resulting in hit after hit. Yet, Jayden never acknowledged her contributions, never defending her against criticism from fans.

George slapped the table. "You finally woke up! I've disliked that jerk for a long time."

Isabella looked at him in surprise. Jayden was handsome and from a good family; George had never expressed his dislike before.

George rubbed his chin. "He's no good; he looks like a scumbag."

Isabella laughed; she knew he was being playful. He often acted carefree, giving the impression of a spoiled rich kid. "So, what's the urgent matter?"

George immediately became serious. Isabella, reassured by his professionalism when it mattered, raised an eyebrow.

"Do you know about the youngest son of the Cox family?"

Isabella's eyes narrowed. "The Cox family, just below the Howerton family?"

George nodded eagerly. "Exactly! Xavier Cox."

Isabella was intrigued. The Cox and Howerton families had a cooperative relationship; helping the Cox family could be beneficial.

"Tell me more."

George cleared his throat, pacing. "This young man has a strange illness. When it flares up, he craves fresh blood and has an explosive temper."

Isabella was taken aback. "Fresh blood?"

"It's been going on for a long time. He needs hospitalization. Can you handle it?" George looked at her expectantly.

Isabella tapped her fingers on her knees. George sighed in frustration. "With your reputation, no one contacts you for small issues. The Cox family has contacted me dozens of times, begging you to intervene. You can set your own price!"

Isabella lightly drummed her fingers. "Let's go to the hospital first."

George's face lit up. He believed in Queenie's abilities. "I'll arrange it immediately." He bustled around, fearing she'd change her mind.

Isabella chuckled. "He really can't be serious for more than three seconds."

Chapter 6 (continued)

A black Maybach waited at an intersection. Jayden sat in the driver's seat, Ivana beside him, admiring his profile with infatuation. She had long liked Jayden, taking advantage of his intoxication to become his girlfriend after he broke up with Isabella. As long as he believed her innocent, it was enough.

Ivana looked at Jayden admiringly. "Jayden, how much longer?"

"Probably another hour. Tired?" Jayden turned, looking at her fondly.

(The passage ends abruptly. The word "DOHMINT" appears to be unrelated.)
