Chapter 110
"What?" Madison froze, staring at Laura in disbelief. "Ms. Jones, are you mistaken?"
"Are you questioning me?" Laura's expression turned frosty, a chill emanating from her. "And who gave you permission to come to the hotel and look for me privately?"
Madison's heart trembled. Laura was clearly furious.
Archie swallowed hard, his gaze trembling as he looked at Laura. Could Laura not have come to meet them? He stammered, "M-Ms. Jones, we we informed security beforehand and asked the front desk to convey the message. They said you'd come down to see us shortly."
Peggy furrowed her brows in irritation. "You think Ms. Jones is someone you can just meet because you said so? You even had the front desk notify her?"
"What? Didn't they notify Ms. Jones?" Archie and Madison were dumbfounded.
"Do you think they're qualified to contact Ms. Jones?" Peggy sneered. "You two are delusional!"
Archie and Madison's faces burned. Just moments ago, they'd been so confident. No wonder Laura had called them arrogant.
"Get out!" Peggy impatiently issued the eviction order. "My day's already bad enough!"
"W-We're sorry, Ms. Lee," Archie and Madison said, hearts sinking. "Ms. Lee, we only wanted to present Ms. Jones with high-grade herbs to nourish her body."
"Do you think Ms. Jones lacks such things?" Peggy looked displeased.
"N-No, Ms. Lee, we meant well!"
"Take the herbs back, and don't disturb Ms. Jones' rest again!" Peggy said coldly.
"Yes," the two trembled.
Peggy snorted coldly, then turned to Dakota and Cameron. "Ms. Jennings, you may accompany Ms. Jones. And you too." Although she loathed Cameron, she dared not disobey Laura's orders.
"Yes, Ms. Lee," Dakota replied cautiously.
Archie and Madison were stunned. Laura had actually invited Dakota? Madison, who had previously believed she held Ms. Jones' favor, was incredulous. Her mind racing, she blurted out, "Ms. Jones, are you really here to see Dakota?"
"What's it to you? Does Ms. Jones need your permission?" Peggy looked at Madison with annoyance. "This woman thinks she's someone important!"
"No no, of course not" Madison's face paled. How dare she question Laura's affairs?
"Then keep your mouth shut!" Peggy warned. "People from smaller towns should know their place!"
"Yes" Madison shivered.
"Ms. Jones, let's go," Peggy said, resuming her respectful demeanor.
"Mm," Laura nodded.
Before leaving, Laura gave Madison a cold glance. If Cameron hadn't told her not to interfere, she would have lost her temper. She decided to let Madison continue her antics.
