Chapter 150
"Cam, thanks for the meal. Come to our place anytime. I'll prepare a delicious meal!" Jane smiled warmly at the building's door.
Cameron smiled. "Okay, Mrs. Jennings."
Jane warmly invited, "By the way, would you like to come to our place now?"
"No, thank you. I still have some things to do. Let's meet another day." Cameron quickly made an excuse, remembering his previous overnight stay with the Jennings family. Another night would mean sharing a room with Dakota, which would be awkward. After all, he was only her fake boyfriend, not her actual boyfriend yet.
"Okay, Cam. Go ahead with your work. Young people's careers are the most important!" Jane expressed her support.
"Thanks for your understanding," Cameron replied.
"That's fine. We'll head back now. Tell Dakota when you're free. I'll prepare a feast for you!"
"Okay!"
"Goodbye!" Cameron waved as the Jennings family left for the parking lot and drove away in their BMW 320i.
After watching them go, Cameron turned to leave. However, he stopped abruptly upon seeing a black Lincoln parked nearby. The Virginia license plate suggested Laura was inside, possibly waiting for someone.
He wanted to ignore it, but the backseat window lowered, revealing Laura's face. "Hello, Cameron," she greeted softly.
He frowned, stunned. Had she come to see him? Although reluctant, he suspected her visit might be related to Peggy's kidnapping and the person behind it.
Taking a deep breath, he approached Laura.
Across the street, Archie and the others at the bus stop witnessed the scene with shock. Laura was waiting for Cameron! They rubbed their eyes and stared again, confirming Cameron was talking to Laura beside the Lincoln. The distance prevented them from hearing their conversation, but they knew Laura was waiting for him.
Archie was stunned. "This how is this possible?"
Madison murmured, her lips trembling. "It's not true It can't be true"
Pia and Skyler also looked pale. What was going on? How did Cameron know Laura?
"Mom, let's keep looking. Maybe it's a misunderstanding. Maybe Cameron just happened to meet Ms. Jones" Madison said, lacking confidence, because Laura had initiated the greeting.
This action reminded Madison of Cameron's wooden box of love letters, including one from Laura. Were those letters real? Had Cameron been hiding his relationship with Laura all this time? Had she been wrong about him?
The thought left Madison pale and filled with regret.
