Chapter 159

Laura blinked, returning to reality. Waterfront? Cameron frowned. Why had she brought him here?

“Cameron, we’re here. Let’s get out.”

Still confused, he watched as she looked at him gently. He took a deep breath and exited the car with her.

Entering the waterfront, they saw a lush field of plants and beautiful scenery. Further ahead lay a wide, artificial beach. Before the beach, the blue artificial sea sparkled in the sunlight. Two rows of high-rise buildings lined the beach; the famous Yrando Sunshine International Vacation Hotel, offering high-standard catering, accommodation, and other services.

Looking at the buildings and sparkling sea, Cameron frowned. The Yrando waterfront was usually bustling with locals and tourists. But today, besides himself and Laura, it was deserted. Perhaps she had reserved it.

“Ms. Jones, did you reserve this place?” Cameron asked, raising an eyebrow.

Laura nodded softly. “I just didn’t want others to disturb us.”

“Hmph, you’re indeed lavish,” Cameron sneered. Her purpose was likely to prevent anyone from seeing them together. After all, she was the prominent Laura Jones; being seen with an unknown man like him could damage her reputation.

“Cameron, you’ve misunderstood me,” Laura said, her voice tinged with grievance. She knew his character and his misunderstanding. But after seven years, his reaction was understandable.

“Ms. Jones, it doesn’t matter whether I misunderstood you,” Cameron replied, taking a deep breath. “If you have something to say, say it. You brought me here and reserved the entire waterfront. What do you want to tell me?” He wanted to leave; the longer he stayed, the more agitated he became.

Laura saw his resistance. Lightly pursing her lips, she said, “Cameron, I only have about a week left. I’ll be returning to Leving early.”

“Really? That’s good,” Cameron said with a slight smile. “Yrando is dangerous. You should return to Leving as soon as possible.”

“Cameron, do you hate me that much?” Laura asked, a faint tingling in her heart.

“Hmph, what do you think?” Cameron pretended indifference, wanting to distance himself from her.

Her eyes dimmed, but remembering her limited time in Yrando, she brightened, affecting a relaxed demeanor. “If this is our last meeting, will you miss me? Will you remember me?”

Cameron was stunned. Was this her farewell?
