Chapter 228, Part 1

“Laura, let me send you back to Leving. I’ll stay with you this time. No one will hurt you.”

Alan looked at Laura with a hint of pride. He wouldn’t be like the incompetent Cameron, who allowed her to be hurt.

She nodded coldly. Upon returning to Leving, Laura would deal with Wendy Jefferson. Even if her father intervened, she would show no mercy. Her stepmother had completely crossed the line.

“Come on, Laura, let’s get in the car.”

Alan opened the car door for her.

The black Lincoln sped away from the hotel, followed by a large convoy.

Cameron and Dakota, passing by, witnessed the scene. Dakota shuddered.

“Cameron, that’s Ms. Jones’ convoy.”

Cameron nodded, wondering if Laura was returning to Leving. He silently wished her luck.

“Let’s go, Dakota.”

He walked toward the parking lot, his voice filled with relief. Dakota nodded, glanced at the departing Lincoln, and followed.

Chapter 228, Part 2

On the other side, a desperate wail echoed from Riddikulus Riverview Villas, Villa No. 6.

“Put it down! Put down all my things! These are mine!”

Madison tugged at the suited man carrying items from the villa, trying to grab her jewelry box.

“Get out of my way!”

The man shoved her angrily aside.

“Ah! You robbers! These are mine…”

She burst into tears, falling to the ground. Instead of sympathy, the man felt annoyance. He glanced at his watch, then shouted to the other men, “There are still ten minutes before Ms. Jones’ deadline. Work faster!”

“Yes, sir!”

His subordinates worked quickly, emptying the villa. Soon, Madison was carried to the door and the villa was sealed.

“Let’s go.”

The suited man looked at her disgustedly, got into the car, and left.

“My villa…” Madison muttered from the ground. Her makeup was smeared with tears; the dark mascara smudged, making her look ghostly. Once a successful entrepreneur, envied by many, she had lost everything: her identity, her company, Archie, and even her home.

“Why… why was God unfair to me? What did I do wrong?” she muttered. Then, abruptly, her dull eyes sharpened. “Dakota… yes, it’s all because of that bitch Dakota!”

It was Dakota, she was convinced, who had teamed up with Cameron to ruin her. Dakota had known what Laura would do and had done nothing to prevent it. Madison felt Dakota had stolen everything.

“Dakota, you made me end up like this… you destroyed me! I won’t forgive you! I’ll make you feel what it’s like to be ruined!” Madison shuddered, consumed by madness.
