Chapter 60
"When exactly did that bitch get involved with Mr. Kane?" Madison cursed under her breath. She resented not being the one to have accomplished it. Madison had tried to approach Bobby earlier, but he hadn't even glanced at her. Otherwise, how could Dakota possibly stand a chance?
“That bitch seems like a goody-two-shoes on the outside, but she’s actually a whore!” Archie sneered.
“Honey, what should we do next? We suffered a big loss today. Are we just going to let them walk all over us?” Madison gritted her teeth.
“Of course not,” Archie said, his eyes narrowing as coldness flashed in them. “However, we must be patient. With Bobby and Timothy protecting them, we can't get our hands on them.”
“Then what should we do?” Madison asked. She couldn't allow her triumph to be stolen like that.
“Don't forget, Ms. Jones will be arriving in Yrando in two days,” Archie smiled.
“What does Ms. Jones have to do with this?” Madison asked, puzzled.
“Everything,” Archie said proudly. “I've already arranged a welcoming party for Ms. Jones. She'll definitely be impressed by our sincerity. Once we gain Ms. Jones's favor, Timothy will be insignificant.”
“What about Bobby? Lord Blackheart is backing him!” Madison worried.
“Do you think Bobby would offend Ms. Jones for a woman? Or even seek Lord Blackheart's help?” Archie smiled coldly. He had planned everything.
“No!” Madison answered without hesitation.
“That settles it. The real show is yet to come!” Archie's eyes narrowed cruelly. Once the Price family became closer to Laura, Archie vowed to get his revenge on Cameron and Dakota.
“I get it, honey!” Madison smiled evilly. She couldn't wait to get her payback on Cameron and Dakota.
Meanwhile, Cameron was unaware of Archie and Madison's scheme. He was ready to leave after saying goodbye to Bobby.
“Let’s go,” Cameron said.
“What? Aren’t we waiting for Mr. Dashner?” Dakota asked, surprised.
“He’s not coming back,” Cameron said, glancing toward the corridor. He must have left under the pretense of using the restroom.
“But didn’t he say he was going to the toilet?” Dakota didn’t understand.
Cameron shook his head. He glanced at the crystal sculpture covered by the white cloth. “He probably felt guilty about bringing the wrong gift and decided to run away.”
“What? He brought the wrong gift?” Dakota was puzzled.
Cameron was surprised by Dakota’s reaction. Did she actually like Timothy’s gift? He asked, “Dakota, how do you feel about Timothy’s gift?”
“I think it’s nice,” Dakota murmured softly, biting her lip. Why was Cameron asking?
Cameron’s heart skipped a beat. He hadn’t expected Dakota to like the sculpture. Could it mean…?
Dakota saw Cameron’s shocked expression and thought he didn’t share her opinion. A dejected look appeared on her face. “Don’t you like it, Cameron?”
“No!” Cameron snapped back to his senses. Noticing Dakota’s dejection, he quickly explained, “Of course, I like it! It’s a good sculpture! It captures your beauty perfectly! And I look good too!”
Dakota rolled her eyes. That wasn’t what she meant! But she was glad he liked it.
“I’m glad you like it,” Dakota smiled in relief.
“Haha…” Cameron gave an awkward laugh.
“Dummy,” Dakota scolded affectionately.
Her voice was too soft for Cameron to hear, but he sensed she was scolding him.
Dakota immediately flushed red. She couldn’t believe he’d heard her!
Cameron observed Dakota’s reddening cheeks in confusion. A woman’s thoughts were indeed hard to fathom. Should he ask or remain silent?
While he debated, the room fell silent, the atmosphere growing awkward. Cameron gritted his teeth and decided to speak.
Just then, Dakota’s phone rang.
Cameron breathed a sigh of relief. He was thankful for the distraction.
Dakota jumped, but quickly regained her composure. She glanced at Cameron before searching for her phone in her bag. When she saw the caller ID, her expression immediately soured.
