Reading Juicy Gossip in Her Mind
Chapter 1: Must Have the Company
Were Ako Bennett's children. Why should there be a demand to reclaim money spent on them? However, when Sloane looked at the lawyer, she knew Sarah wasn't simply talking nonsense.
"We can't verify the identity of your children; then indeed, Ms. Sarah could reclaim the moneyโฆ" the lawyer announced harshly.
Everything seemed to halt at the point of Bennett's cremation. Sloane was on the verge of a breakdown, and her brother couldn't believe it either. He immediately said, "Sloane, don't be scared. We'll fight this in court. I refuse to believe a father can't spend money on his children!"
Sarah gave a cold laugh. "It's all right. We can take our time. The outcome will be the same."
Sloane, in tears, pleaded with Terry and Vera, "Mom, Dad, can't you see? They're pushing us to our breaking point. Fine. I'll give up everything. I'll take the children and leave."
Terry and Vera were already furious. Hearing Sloane's words, Vera exclaimed, "No way! My precious grandsons can't leave! Rest assured, we will stand up for you!"
Terry, striving to maintain composure, stepped forward to consult with the lawyer. Even though the lawyer didn't give a definitive statement, Terry had a sinking feeling the outcome wouldn't be favorable.
With trembling hands, Terry pointed at Sarah. "Are you truly going to be this ruthless?"
Sarah, hugging her daughter, scoffed. "I'm merely reclaiming what rightfully belongs to us. Did you really think you could fool me without consequences? Did you not foresee this day?"
Terry, furious, spat out bitterly, "Fine! The Eaton family disowns you as a daughter-in-law and your daughter. From now on, they are the true members of the Eaton family. You want to reclaim your assets and seek revenge? Impossible! We will stand by them forever!"
Vera added, "Exactly. We have a share in our son's inheritance; we won't be short of money. We insist on using the money you both worked hard for to support themโjust to infuriate you, you wicked woman!"
Carlos, furious, muttered, "It seems you're well aware of who contributed most to their shared marital assets. How can you have the audacity to utter such shameless words? I believe Bennett's early death was nothing short of karma!"
His words sparked an uproar. Tsk, tsk, look at their audacity, still stubborn even after failing twice. Did they really think Sarah hadn't anticipated this?
David's family, initially irate, now looked confused.
Chapter 366: Must Have the Company
In reality, they all felt they had no choice but to endure this frustration. But did Sarah have more tricks up her sleeve? Isabella revealed nothing.
However, everyone agreed Alexander would know. He was considered the most knowledgeable regarding this matter.
Everyone turned to Alexander. After some thought, he believed there was a more ruthless method.
The twins and Janice, confused, noticed everyone's gaze.
Alexander, unable to withstand the curious gazes, sighed. "Perhaps Sarah will persuade them to give up everything except the company." Jake and Eula, the most astute in the business world, reacted.
"The company that wanted you to join their investment project?" Jake asked.
"I remember Bennett established a company independently, under his own name, separate from the Quirk family," Eula said.
Christopher laughed. "Seems like this company is a trap, a big one."
Isabella, astonished, looked at Alexander with admiration. This let those who could hear her thoughts know Alexander had guessed correctly. Sarah then provided an answer.
She put aside reclaiming what belonged to them and focused on existing assets. "I don't need anything else, but I must have the company Bennett most recently established."
This made it clear the company held significant value. Otherwise, Sarah wouldn't be vying for it; her history suggested she never left anything valuable behind.
