Chapter 39: Grim Reaper +5 Free Coins

Isabella shook her head. "What a quick temper he has," she mused. "He's already this angry just from finding out Henry and Marjorie are looking for Luna; I wonder how he'd react if he found out about their bizarre ideas. He'd probably hit the roof."

Trailing after Christopher to enjoy the show, they quickly arrived at Bianca's ward. As expected, Bianca wasn't even admitted to the intensive care unit. Yet Henry and Marjorie had the nerve to mislead Luna over the phone, making it sound as if Bianca was on her deathbed. Were they not worried that their lies might come true?

Meanwhile, Henry and Marjorie were frustrated by their inability to reach Luna, cursing incessantly.

"That heartless girl!" Henry snapped. "Her sister was injured because of her, yet she won't even bother to visit!"

Marjorie was anxious. "What should we do? Has Luna really decided to abandon us? If she's this heartless, she wouldn't agree to donate her organs to Bianca even if we find her, would she?"

"It would be heartless of her to refuse, since she's the one who caused this mess!" Henry exclaimed. "I'll go to her school and see why they accepted such a despicable student!"

Wow. I've never seen anyone like them! Their audaciousness in voicing such self-righteous thoughts instead of keeping them discreet is astounding! They clearly don't think they're doing anything wrong! But they're in for a reckoning now that Christopher overheard them.

As expected, Christopher was beside himself with rage. He charged forward without a second thought. Before anyone could react, he seized Henry by the collar with his uninjured hand and slammed him against the wall.

"Ah!" Henry shrieked in pain.

Startled, Hayden quickly looked around to make sure no one was watching. It was his first time witnessing Christopher lose his temper like that, so he instantly abandoned his attempt to calm him down and chose to be on the lookout instead.

Henry was utterly stunned after the pain subsided and he saw clearly who had attacked him. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect someone younger than him to treat him this way.

"Christopher, it's you! What are you doing?" he demanded.

"Christopher, let go of him! How could you…?" Marjorie panicked, snapping back to her senses and trying to pull Christopher away, but to no avail. He was as strong as a raging bull and refused to budge.

Left with no choice, Marjorie sought help from others. Noticing Alexander and Isabella standing nearby, she called out, "Alexander, Isabella, hurry…"

Isabella blinked, leisurely turned around, and sat on a nearby bench. She was a bit tired from running over and decided to sit down and enjoy the show.

Taken aback by Isabella's indifference, Marjorie turned to Alexander, silently pleading for help. Surely the heir of the Quirk family wouldn't be this heartless, would he?

Alexander glanced at Isabella and settled down beside her before addressing Christopher. "Be careful not to aggravate your injury, or Dad and Mom will worry." He then noticed Isabella secretly recording a video and was at a loss for words. Though I think Dad and Mom’s curiosity will outweigh their concern, he thought.

Marjorie opened her mouth to speak, but the words failed her. She could only clutch the back of her head, nearly fainting from the shock.

Henry, livid, was practically lifted into the air by the towering Christopher, who held him aloft by his collar. His feet dangled, and he couldn't even struggle. His frustration was evident in his reddening face and neck.

"We are your elders! Have you lost your mind?" he thundered.

"I think you're the ones who have lost your minds," Christopher yelled. "You're hardly fit to be parents. Thankfully, Luna has severed ties with your family. Otherwise, she would have been killed by you!"

Henry and Marjorie stared at Christopher in disbelief, unprepared for this outburst on Luna's behalf. It hadn't been long since they last saw him, yet he had changed dramatically.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Didn't you get hurt too? Are you saying all of this wasn't because of Luna? Not only did she fail to protect her younger sister, but she also dragged her into this mess. If it weren't for her, would Bianca's face and kidneys have been damaged? Even if she refused to make sacrifices, she should've at least made amends for her mistakes! She must have figured it out and deliberately avoided us, refusing to save her sister! How could she be so heartless?"

Christopher finally understood the torture Luna had endured for over two decades with parents like them. He was so infuriated that his hands trembled, and his eyes were wide open, as if he were ready to beat Henry and Marjorie to a pulp.

Isabella couldn't help but scoff. "From what I hear, you plan on taking her skin and kidney. I don't understand. You can use Bianca's own skin to fix her disfigurement. As for the kidney, she can always wait for a donor. It's not like she's dying. Do you have to get it from Luna? Do you despise Luna so much that you want her to suffer?"

"Hey! Watch your mouth! We're her parents! Why would we want her to suffer? Bianca is too frail to go through all that organ-matching hassle. Twins are the most compatible, making Luna the best candidate for the transplant. This is inevitable. Family members should always help each other."

Christopher spat with rage, "Help each other? Why don't you tell me, has Bianca ever done anything to help Luna since she was born?"

Words failed Henry and Marjorie. They racked their brains and couldn't come up with a single example.

Christopher scoffed, "Luna has always been the only one supporting Bianca. Even after Bianca's true, malicious nature was exposed, you still treat her like a treasure, favoring her over Luna!"

Christopher found it absurd. Like himself, Henry and Marjorie were deceived by Bianca's act. Looking back at how Bianca manipulated them all, he was thoroughly disgusted, but astonishingly, Henry and Marjorie didn't regret their actions at all.

"All those years of their lives would have been a waste if they didn't continue loving Bianca," Alexander interjected with rare snarkiness, hitting the nail on the head.

Isabella nodded in agreement. "It's hard to get these geriatrics to admit their mistakes."

A fleeting look of guilt crossed Henry's features, but he quickly said through gritted teeth, "At the end of the day, this is a family matter…"

Here we go again, Isabella thought, the same old trick. When they can't win with reason, they resort to playing the emotional card.

Alexander, finding Isabella's inner thoughts amusing, spoke up. "A family matter, huh? So… did you guys get a compatibility test done?"

Everyone was stunned. It was as if a bolt of lightning had struck them.

"Apart from her twin sister, the two of you, as her parents, are the most suitable candidates compared to strangers, isn't that right?" Alexander said nonchalantly.

Henry and Marjorie froze, as if their brains had momentarily stopped functioning.

For a brief moment, Isabella was utterly repulsed by their selfishness.

"Hubby, how could you suspect Mr. and Mrs. Cowell? Even though they're extremely biased, both Luna and Bianca are their daughters. Now that something has happened to one of them, I'm sure their first instinct would be to provide help themselves and not burden their child. Surely, they wouldn't use their other daughter for parts. That's simply impossible," Isabella said sarcastically.

Alexander jolted at the term "Hubby" and instinctively responded, "Is that so?"

"Of course! The compatibility test must have failed, which was why they had no choice but to resort to asking for Luna's help. If they themselves could help, they surely wouldn't let a young woman, who's in her prime and hasn't even experienced love, marriage, or motherhood yet, be left with two large scars on her body and lose her vibrancy, health, and freedom to dress as she pleases," she said.

"Indeed, you make a good point." He nodded in agreement.

"Exactly! They are their parents, not grim reapers. Even the cruelest tiger won't harm its cub!"
