Tiffany suddenly felt she'd shot herself in the foot. Despite her usual calm demeanor, she hesitated for two seconds before confessing, "Kenneth."

The bedroom atmosphere froze. Tiffany saw Richard's displeasure and felt inexplicably guilty. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Nothing," Richard replied, his intimidating aura vanishing. He casually picked up the small first-aid kit in the room. "I'll apply the medicine."

"I'll be fine tomorrow," Tiffany insisted. It was just a scratch; she didn't consider it serious.

Richard finally relented. "Alright, then rest early."

"Yeah," Tiffany mumbled.

"Oh, right." Richard started to leave, then stopped. He turned, saying softly, "As a woman, you should keep your distance from other men. If you need anything, just call me."

He meant Tiffany should avoid arousing suspicion with another man, especially Kenneth.

Tiffany blinked, thinking, Since he says I should keep my distance from men, why is there no need to avoid suspicion when I'm with him? She complained inwardly but nodded. "Okay."

That was her initial plan anyway. If Ged's life hadn't been at stake, she never would have gotten into Kenneth's car. And Richard's offer of help? That thought had never crossed her mind. She preferred self-reliance.

After Tiffany nodded, Richard left, disappearing through the window as usual—nimble and familiar with the escape route. Tiffany closed the curtains and turned off the lights.

Half an hour later, at Royal Bay, Sidney yawned repeatedly. Looking at Richard, who showed no signs of sleep, he asked curiously, "What do you plan to do?"

Richard had a reputation for a volatile temper, but Sidney, having worked beside him for a long time, had never seen him lose control. He'd dismissed the rumors as hyperbole; those who angered Richard were insignificant.

However, a few minutes ago, while Sidney recounted two incidents, Richard's face darkened. Someone was about to face serious consequences—and not just one person. The Lee family would be the first to suffer. Connor and Mia had hired an assassin to kill Tiffany; luckily, Garry, the hapless assassin, was still stuck mining coal. The culprit wouldn't escape.

Richard said expressionlessly, "The Lee family's new building is about to launch, right?"

"That's right. Five years of preparation, a huge investment, boasting a 'paradise on earth.' They have many pre-sale orders; it'll sell out instantly," Sidney replied. Then, a thought struck him. "You don't intend to prevent them from selling it, do you?"

"Of course not."

"Oh, good!" Sidney breathed a sigh of relief, about to tease Richard about his reputation for ruthlessness. But then Richard casually added, "Let them sell it. When it's sold out, get that land back for me."

Sidney was speechless. He'd been wrong; Richard was even more ruthless than he thought. He could foresee the Lee family's furious reaction. The Lees had invested massively, generating considerable hype. The launch was meant to be a sensation in Lovell City. To sell the units only to have the land reclaimed would be catastrophic. They'd face lawsuits from buyers and investors, potentially losing more than half their assets—all for offending someone they shouldn't have.

Sidney lamented, "You're really ruthless." But he added, "Then again, the Lee family deserved it. Luckily, Tiffany was unharmed when they tried to kill her; otherwise, they'd pay a much higher price."

Sidney then coughed and teased, "So…Kenneth? Are you jealous of your nephew?" He'd investigated Tiffany's whereabouts that day and learned she'd been at an illegal racing arena with Kenneth. Even with a valid reason, Richard might still be jealous.

Richard's face darkened, his voice colder. "He'd better know his place and not harbor inappropriate feelings." He remembered Tiffany's past devotion to Kenneth—the love letters, the cooking, her constant presence. And Kenneth's cruelty to her, always prioritizing other women. Fortunately, Tiffany had moved on. Otherwise… Richard's eyes narrowed. Otherwise, I would have strangled him.

Sidney reasoned, "I don't think he will. Their engagement is broken; reconciliation is impossible. I suspect Tiffany wants to get revenge on Kenneth as much as you do. If she gets the chance, she'll do it. Is that what they call 'love turning to hate'?"

Richard glared at him. "Love turning to hate?" He was jealous again.

Sidney quickly corrected himself. "What I mean is, Tiffany knows her own mind. That won't happen. She's just settling scores."

Richard's expression softened slightly.

Meanwhile, Kenneth, still at the racing arena, sneezed. The night air was cool, and a surge of unease washed over him. Earlier, he'd wanted to follow Tiffany and the others, but a distress message from Sandra stopped him. Despite their reconciliation, he couldn't abandon her.

He rushed to Sandra's location, finding her surrounded by menacing hooligans. Kenneth quickly dispatched them. Sandra, crying, hugged him tightly, begging him not to leave her.

Kenneth sighed. "Stop acting like this."

Sandra stepped back, then suddenly lifted her skirt and ran towards a speeding trial car at the racing arena.
