Listen to this chapter:

The scene was chaotic. Judging from the glaring red blood on the ground, the child could not be saved. Jordan was stunned, still at a loss. Lauren, however, immediately jumped up, shouting in horror, “Oh my God, the child is gone!” She slapped her thigh and cried miserably. Sandra, pregnant with the Booth family's only child, had indulged Lauren's every ridiculous request. Lauren had secretly planned to oust Sandra after the birth, but now her plan had failed.

“It’s you! You’re committing murder! I’m going to sue you!” Lauren shrieked, pointing at Tiffany and widening her eyes. “Everyone saw it! You’re the murderer! Call the police! Arrest her!” The wedding had devolved into a murder scene.

Lauren was right about one thing: Tiffany had pushed Sandra, causing her to fall backward off the stage, where she lay gasping her last breath.

Charlie pushed through the crowd, standing protectively before Tiffany. He looked coldly at the onlookers. “My daughter wouldn’t do such a thing. There must be a misunderstanding. Before the police arrive, I advise you not to accuse my daughter!”

Charlie's sudden fierceness silenced the crowd. His upright posture commanded attention. Unwavering, he stood like a mountain before his daughter.

Lauren, shocked by his demeanor, roared, “It’s a fact! We all saw it! You’re lying! Are you trying to distort the truth?”

Ignoring her, Charlie instructed someone, “Hurry and send her to the hospital!” If Sandra and her child died, Tiffany would be undeniably guilty.

Soon, an ambulance arrived. As Sandra was placed on the stretcher, though near death, she propped herself up, tears streaming down her face, and asked Tiffany, “Why did you push me?”

The guests sympathized with Sandra, a pathetic woman who had lost her child at her wedding. Regardless of her parents' actions toward the Kelley family, the child was innocent.

Someone clicked their tongue. “So they weren't here for the wedding, but to deliberately harm people.”

“Yeah, look at all that blood. It’s terrifying.”

“I never expected Miss Kelley to be so vicious under that innocent facade. How could she be so cruel to a pregnant woman?”

Thalia’s headache returned. She stumbled backward, tripping over a chair. Fortunately, someone helped her up.

“Mrs. Kelley, are you alright?” Melody asked worriedly.

Turning, Thalia trembled, her eyes filled with surprise, doubt, and indescribable sadness.

“Are you feeling unwell?” Melody asked gently.

Eric rushed over, asking anxiously, “Mom, what’s wrong?”

“No, I’m fine,” Thalia replied, regaining her composure. Melody politely stepped back to Kenneth's side. Thalia dismissed the strange feeling as her imagination, took her son’s hand, and joined her husband.

Charlie continued to defend Tiffany. “I know my daughter best. Don’t slander her.” In public, who would be foolish enough to push Sandra? It seemed a deliberate setup. Charlie preferred to believe Sandra had staged it than that his daughter had done it.

Eric, his face flushed with anger, nodded. “My sister isn’t that kind of person. You’re not allowed to bully her!”

Their pleas were futile. The police arrived. “Who is Tiffany Kelley? Come with us.”

She was charged with assault and attempted murder. Charlie nearly fainted. “Officer, you must investigate thoroughly! My daughter didn’t do this! Why are you taking her away?” He was furious, his body shaking with rage.

Tiffany patted his back. “Dad, I’ll be fine. Can you take Mom and Eric home?”

“No!” Charlie began to protest, but Tiffany interrupted. “Dad, calm down. Don’t worry about me, and don’t interfere with the police.” She would be taken regardless. There was no point in hindering the investigation.

Charlie, understanding, gritted his teeth. “Okay.” He would find the best lawyer.

Tiffany sighed, patted her brother’s head, and wiped Thalia’s tears. “Don’t worry.” She was handcuffed and led away. Even in handcuffs, her posture remained elegant and breathtaking.

Kenneth, though usually uninvolved, found himself drawn to Tiffany’s defense. He was finding excuses for her actions, no longer prejudiced against her. Even though everyone believed she had hurt Sandra, he still believed in her innocence.

Melody understood Kenneth’s thoughts. Worriedly, she shook his arm. “What should we do, Kenneth? Should we help Tiffany?”
