Chapter 484

Years passed, and the princess never visited Felix again. Everyone believed she was dead, blamed for sparking the Azure Sea Royal Family's internal war. Felix examined his hand; the knife handle was worn. He felt a mixture of regret and relief. He regretted failing to kill her and avenge himself on the royal family and the Azure Sea King, but he was glad he hadn't, allowing him to occasionally remember her.

That year, the princess was five, he was nine. She was haughty and powerful; he, a street urchin with no one to rely on.

On the sofa, Felix's trembling gradually ceased. His eyelids fluttered, as if he were about to wake. Tiffany watched him, frowning. She thought, "Is he waking from the hypnosis? Should I hit him?"

Just as she was about to attack, Felix opened his eyes.

"It's no use. I won't die," he said calmly, as if stating the weather.

June gasped, "Did you obtain the Treasure Box's power?"

Legend claimed the Treasure Box, besides predicting the future, granted immortality and eternal youth. However, no one had ever truly possessed this power, rendering it a myth to most.

Tiffany was stunned. She remembered Richard breaking Felix's arm that morning. Yet, Felix seemed unaffected; his arm had healed. She thought, "No wonder he's so confident, unconcerned about his life. He's immortal."

A playful smile touched her lips. "After hearing that, I'm curious. June, give me the gun."

Her intentions were clear. Even Felix was shocked. He thought, "How can she be like this?"

Before he could react, June handed Tiffany the gun. Tiffany's smile was languid, her eyes hinting at a demonic aura.

"Only one way to find out," she said. "I don't believe you. Let's experiment. Let's see if you survive a few bullets."

She pressed the loaded gun to his heart.

Felix's eyes twitched. "Stop it," he said. He couldn't gamble; winning meant injury, losing meant death.

Tiffany smirked. "Answer my questions, or…"

Felix sighed. "One week later, at Moonlit Pier. If you want Richard to avoid calamity, stay away from him. This will happen because of you."

Tiffany lowered her eyes. Someone had said the same thing yesterday at Royal Bay—an attendant, angrily warning, "Stay away from him, or you'll kill him." She hadn't heeded it then, but today was different.

"What else?" she asked. "Is that all?"

"That's all the Treasure Box showed me. It can't reveal everything," Felix said, pushing the gun barrel away with his finger.

Tiffany stopped, but signaled June, who raised her hand. Dozens of shots rang out, filling the villa's living room. Tiffany believed Felix was finally eliminated, feeling triumphant.

Then she heard June's shocked voice. "Where… where is he?"

Felix had vanished, leaving only the damaged sofa. "Where did he go? Did he disappear?" she thought, gritting her teeth. "Search! Check outside!"

Despite a thorough search, they found nothing. "He vanished into thin air," Tiffany thought.

June hung her head. "I'm sorry, Miss Kelley. I failed to eliminate him."

Tiffany's efforts were wasted. Felix's next revenge might be worse.

"It's not your fault," Tiffany comforted her, looking at the Treasure Box. "We weren't empty-handed." She knew his secret, and she had the Treasure Box. Since he'd already activated it, it was likely useless to him, explaining why he didn't retrieve it.

Tiffany left. "Let's go."

In the car, June received a message, her expression turning grim.

"What's wrong?" Tiffany asked.

"Miss Kelley, Lorenzo… escaped," June answered.

"Rescued, or escaped?"

"Two skilled people rescued him," June said, vexed. "I'm sorry, this is my fault." She'd sent only two guards.

Tiffany shook her head. "Forget it. We'll try again. But our family's protection must be airtight."

"Don't worry," June said.

Tiffany, concerned for her family's safety, had assigned subordinates to protect her parents and Eric, fearing a repeat of past incidents. With them safe, she could deal with Felix.

Their cars sped away. A sandstorm eventually subsided.

At the empty villa, a rustling sound came from a tree. Felix jumped down. He hadn't disappeared; he'd escaped and hidden. Soon, two men returned with Lorenzo.

Lorenzo immediately demanded, "Mr. Felix, why didn't you kill her? She's a menace! We must eliminate her! And the Treasure Box? Why give it to her? We have sacrificial soldiers; we could destroy her forces at any time! We could have won! Why did we let her win?"
