Chapter 110

โ€œIโ€™m not happy,โ€ Elaine fumed, her eyes reddening. She refused to wear the dress Amelia bought. What she wanted was a gift from Landon.

โ€œMs. Atkinson, thatโ€™s enough.โ€ Landonโ€™s handsome face darkened.

The guests nearby couldnโ€™t help but feel a chill for Elaine. They wondered if Elaine would be thrown out. The last woman who dared to cause a scene with Landon was tossed out like trash.

Elaine was scared of Landon, but she felt wronged. Unable to hold back, she burst into tears. โ€œYouโ€™re all bullying me.โ€

โ€œGet out.โ€ Landonโ€™s cold tone left no room for argument.

โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€ Elaine stamped her feet, covering her face, and ran out of Kingsley Manor.

While the guests sympathized with Elaine, they couldnโ€™t help but admire Landon for how he spoiled his wife. They knew better than to cross Amelia from now on. Even if anyone had opinions, they kept them to themselves.

The celebration returned to its peaceful mood.

Amelia shook her head, amused. She thought, โ€˜Itโ€™s always the same with Elaine. Why does she keep doing this?โ€™

But then, Amelia cast a cautious glance at Landon. As expected, Landon was waiting for praise. He thought, โ€˜Shouldnโ€™t Amelia compliment me now?โ€™

Amelia was exasperated. She rubbed her forehead. โ€œYouโ€™re always upsetting Elaine. Arenโ€™t you worried the Atkinson family will make things difficult for you in business?โ€

โ€œIf they do, then I just wonโ€™t do business with them.โ€ Landon shrugged, clearly displeased. He thought, โ€˜I stand up for you, and you lecture me?โ€™

Amelia sighed, bending down to whisper in Landonโ€™s ear. โ€œThank you for supporting me just now.โ€

โ€œNo problem.โ€ Landonโ€™s face lit up as if getting a compliment from Amelia was a huge achievement.

Amelia could only shake her head. She thought, โ€˜Landonโ€™s cold CEO image is gone.โ€™

โ€œLandon, itโ€™s time to toast Grandma,โ€ Cynthia called.

At the Kingsley familyโ€™s birthday party, there was a tradition for the younger generation to bow and offer a toast to Donna.

Amelia gently pushed Landon toward Donna.

Henry said sarcastically, โ€œLandon canโ€™t sit. He has to stand.โ€

โ€œHenry, you are just making things difficult for Landon,โ€ Gloria snapped.

โ€œIsnโ€™t Landon awake now? His legs canโ€™t move, but he can still strike a pose,โ€ Henry replied.

Amelia thought, โ€˜Everyone is watching, and he wants to treat Landon like some sort of puppet, twisting him into a pose? Itโ€™s humiliating. Absolutely not.โ€™

โ€œNo way.โ€ Amelia stepped forward, arms wide, as if protecting a fragile little chick. โ€œLandonโ€™s body hasnโ€™t fully healed. Dr. Harrington suggested he go to the hospital today for a check-up. But Landon insisted on coming to the birthday celebration because he said Grandma and Grandpa wanted him here.

โ€œIf I had known he would be put in such an awkward spot, I never would have let him come.โ€

Ameliaโ€™s tone was firm, and the lie she casually spun moved Donna. Thinking of her late husband, who had always adored Landon, Donnaโ€™s expression softened. โ€œLandon is dedicated enough. He doesnโ€™t need to stand.โ€

โ€œUnderstood.โ€ Donna had made her final decision, and Henry awkwardly led everyone in bowing.

Chapter 110

Landon sat in his wheelchair, watching Ameliaโ€™s tense face. His heart softened. He thought, โ€˜Others are always scheming to corner me, but youโ€™re always there, protecting me. Thank you, Honey.โ€™

Amelia stayed on edge, her nerves tense, especially in front of Henry and his family. Her nose tingled when she heard Landonโ€™s thoughts, and a wave of sympathy flooded her. Amelia desperately wanted to hug him. She thought, โ€˜Ugh, I donโ€™t want this power. Hearing his every thought makes it hard to control my feelings.โ€™

After the ceremony, Amelia received a gift from Donna.

Donna said earnestly, โ€œNow that youโ€™re Landonโ€™s wife, I hope youโ€™ll have a baby soon.โ€

โ€œOkayโ€ฆโ€ Ameliaโ€™s face flushed with embarrassment, but she still responded cheerfully. She couldnโ€™t let Henry and the others see her falter for Landonโ€™s sake.

โ€œGood. Landon just woke up, so you do not need to stay here. You can go home now,โ€ Donna said.

Amelia was more than happy to oblige. She accepted the gift and quickly wheeled Landon out of Kingsley Manor without a second thought.

Landonโ€™s eyes flickered, his hesitation clear. He thought, โ€˜Leaving now? My plan hasnโ€™t even started.โ€™

But in the end, Landon said nothing and allowed Amelia to push him out of Kingsley Manor at full speed. He thought, โ€˜Sheโ€™s worried, scaredโ€“I can feel it. As long as sheโ€™s happy, thatโ€™s all that matters. Taking care of Henry can wait. There will be plenty of chances later.โ€™

On the way home, Amelia finally relaxed, slumping in her seat with a sigh. โ€œFinally, itโ€™s over.โ€

โ€œYou were too tense.โ€ Landon couldnโ€™t help but laugh lightly. โ€œIโ€™m not as fragile as you think.โ€

โ€œRight, youโ€™re strong. So please, get better soon,โ€ Amelia replied dismissively. She thought, โ€˜Patrick is ruthless and cold-blooded. If things really come to a fight, how can a half-disabled Landon stand a chance?โ€™

โ€œHoney, you did great today.โ€ Landon squeezed Ameliaโ€™s hand, gently rubbing it. He had made up his mind. He was going to keep Amelia by his side forever.

โ€œItโ€™s more tiring than fighting a war,โ€ Amelia sighed, then added, โ€œWhy are our families so messed up?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s why we are destined to be together,โ€ Landon said.

โ€œUgh, so cheesy.โ€ Amelia rolled her eyes and pulled her hand free. โ€œLandon, we met a long time ago. Do you remember?โ€

โ€œI do,โ€ Landon replied.

โ€œWait, really?โ€ Amelia was stunned. โ€œYouโ€ฆyou really remember?โ€

โ€œAt the Lloyd familyโ€™s party. You were looking for Zachary and bumped into me.โ€ Landon recalled the moment, a sympathetic look crossing his face as he watched Amelia. โ€œYou asked me if I had seen Zachary. I didnโ€™t answer. The truth is, Zachary had gone off with Sandra.โ€

Landon paused, studying Ameliaโ€™s face, waiting for her reaction. He wondered if she still cared so much about Zachary after all this time.

โ€œIโ€™ve known all along,โ€ Amelia huffed in disdain.

Landon laughed in relief. โ€œWhen did you find out?โ€

โ€œI was lying on the operating table, and I saw Sandra disguised as a nurse. Then I had a horrible nightmareโ€ฆโ€ Amelia shivered. The tragic memories of her life before her time travel lingered like an unshakable shadow.

Every time Amelia remembered those few minutes before the surgery, a chill ran down her spine. Fortunately, she had traveled back in time before it happened.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Iโ€™m here for you from now on.โ€ Landon gently patted Ameliaโ€™s head, pulling her into his embrace.

Chapter 110

Amelia was still lost in her thoughts, her body tilting with Landonโ€™s movement. The wheelchair armrest pressed against her side, snapping her out of her daze.

Amelia realized Landon was about to hug her and quickly slapped his hand away, sitting up straight. โ€œSit up properly.โ€

Landon was speechless. He thought, โ€˜Damn this wheelchair armrest, itโ€™s too high. Itโ€™s blocking me from hugging Amelia.โ€™

At Kingsley Manor, Henry watched helplessly as Landon left unscathed, his frustration spilling over as he vented to Patrick. โ€œYou said he wouldnโ€™t make out today, but you didnโ€™t even get a chance to make a move.โ€

โ€œIt was Grandma who messed up my plan.โ€ Patrick raised his left hand, heavily bandaged in white gauze, his eyes darkened.

Henryโ€™s face turned grim. He warned, โ€œDonโ€™t even think about going after your grandmother.โ€
