Chapter 330

Alexander glanced at her car parked by the roadside. "I'm going to the office. Why don't you come with me?" He knew she'd drive herself; they wouldn't be riding together.

Unexpectedly, joy overwhelming her, she went to the passenger side, opened the door, and sat down after hearing his words. "Okay, okay!"

"What about your car?" Alexander asked.

"Who cares? Just leave it! I'll come back with you this evening and drive it home." She clapped her hands happily, thinking about being in the car with Alexander. "Oh my God!"

"It'll likely be towed by then," Alexander said helplessly.

"Let it be. I can have someone get it. What do you like to eat, Alex? I don't know if your tastes have changed, so I brought several things. You can choose." She handed him the bag as if offering a treasure.

Alexander subtly smiled. He then noticed a small bottle of car fragrance on the passenger seat—something Lily had made. Seeing Brittany in Lily's usual seat caused a pang of unease.

"Get in the back," he said.

Brittany's eyes widened. "Why?!"

"The passenger seat isn't safe!" He quickly added, "And all that food is distracting while I'm driving."

Brittany was speechless. Then, a sweet smile spread across her face. "Is the food distracting you, or is it me? Are you finally admitting my influence, Alex?"

"You're overthinking!" Alexander said, knocking her head lightly. This girl's thoughts were absurd.

"Ha ha ha" Despite the playful tap, Brittany was delighted, insisting she was the source of his distraction. This, of course, satisfied her completely.

She reached for the door handle, then paused. "You can't drive off after I get out! You can't trick me!"

Alexander sighed. "I won't. Go sit in the back."

"Okay!" Only after his reassurance did Brittany willingly move to the back seat.

Alexander saw her smiling in the rearview mirror. He couldn't understand her joy. Shaking his head, he started the car and drove to work. The building was nearly empty; it was still early. He took the VIP elevator to the top floor. He wanted to finish breakfast and send Brittany away quickly, and figure out how to keep her occupied.

Brittany was oblivious to his thoughts. The fact that he'd let her come to the office and have breakfast with him spoke volumes. Was he finally accepting her as his girlfriend? Taking a woman to work was essentially public declaration; he wouldn't do it unless she was.
