Chapter 120: Making a Public Decision
Sean entered, glancing at Abigail before turning to Joan. "Speak for yourself," he said.
Joan stepped from behind him, glancing at Abigail and Luna. "Luna, I'm so sorry. I didn't know about Miss Lowery's actions. When I mentioned the bag, she seemed interested, so I sold it to her at a discount. I never expected her to resell it at the original price"
Nina bit her lip, remaining silent. Abigail suspected she was trying to take the blame.
"WellI really like your watch. Would you sell it to me at a discount?" Luna smiled suddenly.
The watch was a birthday gift from Sean, and Joan wouldn't sell it. Tears welled in her eyes as she bit her lip. "Luna, I said those things this morning because I was angry and impulsive. I apologize, but I had absolutely nothing to do with the video!"
Abigail stepped forward. "Are you saying Nina made the video alone?"
Sean watched silently, surprised by Abigail's swift turnaround. Was her earlier compromise a tactical move or a test?
Joan nodded vehemently. "I had no involvement. I didn't know what she'd do with my mention of the bag."
Abigail's eyes were cold and distant. "The recording pen is with me. I've posted its specifications on L.Moon's official Instagram and contacted the manufacturer."
Joan looked bewildered and panicked.
Abigail continued, "The recording pen's battery is rechargeable. With 24/7 use, it lasts about a week. When Miss Smith found it, it had nearly two-thirds of its battery life remaining. If we divide a week into thirds, when do you think it was placed in her room?"
"Three days ago, Joan and the show's broadcast team were in Luna's room for an interview. Joan was sitting next to Lamal."
Abigail displayed the recording pen's performance data from L.Moon's Instagram and screenshots of their conversation with the manufacturer. They confirmed it was the latest model, brand new.
"Based on battery life, Joan placed it there! Why does she lie so much? She looked so pitiful! Why did Sean buy her such an expensive bag? She pretends to be Alana's fan, seeking fame through her designs, yet plants a recording device and collaborates with another designer to smear her? What's wrong with her?"
Netizens were furious.
Overwhelmed by the public exposure, Joan wept and trembled. Kevin stood by, smiling faintly but displeased. The fashion show seemed pointless.
Luna, a cold smile playing on her lips, glanced at Sean, who intently watched Abigail. "Miss Quinn, please continue," she said languidly.
Abigail nodded, walked to a worktable, and presented the finished dress. Before the netizens could react, she took scissors and cut the dress in half at the waist.
She looked at Sean. "Mr. Graham, my boss has made it clear. Someone who tarnishes Alana's reputation is unworthy to wear her clothes. This dress was made to Joan's measurements; it's only right to destroy it."
Sean's hand clenched. Abigail was openly challenging him.
"Furthermore, Joan has slandered Miss Smith twice and planted a recording device to create a false video. We demand a public apology. Otherwise, L.Moon will take legal action!" She threw the dress on the ground and stepped on it.
Joan collapsed to the floor.
"Finally, L.Moon Studio withdraws from the program. We will compensate for any breach of contract. We hope Mr. Graham and Mr. Stewart understand Miss Smith's feelings and allow her time to recover," Abigail concluded politely, nodding.
Luna stood, retrieved her luggage, and smiled faintly. "I appreciate your care, but I'm deeply affected and cannot continue. I'm withdrawing. Thank you for your understanding."
Abigail ended the livestream, then joined Luna.
