Chapter 12: I Won't Play House With You
After resolving the production team's issues, Kevin took a break. He noticed an L.Moon assistant's Facebook post, initially assuming it related to company announcements. However, the post contained a surprising photograph.
With a mischievous grin, he saved the photo and messaged Sean: "I have a valuable picture. Add 1.5 million to the investment, and I'll send it to you."
Sean replied with a question mark.
This irritated Kevin, who sent a barrage of messages: "While you two were off gallivanting, I cleaned up your mess. How dare you respond with a question mark?!"
Sean responded, "Just send the picture; we'll discuss the price then."
Kevin, feeling Sean was being difficult, replied, "I'll send it later; I have something to attend to." He hoped to make Sean anxious, but Sean didn't follow up.
Meanwhile, Director Lewis unexpectedly announced on social media that L.Moon Studio would handle the costume design for his new drama. This decision, reached after discussions between Abigail, Anthony, and Lewis, leveraged L.Moon's social media popularity to promote the project. Even Star Media's official account (which rarely posted) shared the announcement, tagging Alana's Instagram account.
After giving Luna instructions, Abigail planned to go home to care for her grandmother and prepare for a program. Leaving L.Moon Studio, she received a message from Anthony: "Free tonight?"
She hesitated, replying, "Only if it's urgent. Otherwise, I have to care for my grandmother."
After getting into her car, he replied: "Director Lewis wants to discuss costume details. Since this is your first drama, he's concerned about potential production difficulties."
The work-related nature of the request meant Abigail couldn't refuse. Returning home, she found Analise waiting. As Abigail exited the elevator, Analise shouted, "Abigail's back!"
Seeing Analise's eagerness, Abigail felt warmth. "I'm back, Grandma," she said, taking her grandmother's hand.
Analise smiled, holding Abigail's hand tightly. "Welcome back." Entering the house, she added, "Sean also returned from his business trip. I'm planning a dinner with Julie. You should join him."
Abigail saw Sean on the couch, preparing garlic sprouts. Her smile faded slightly. "I have something to do tonight. You guys eat. I'll have dinner with you tomorrow, Grandma."
Analise disapproved. "You've been away so long, separated from Sean for days, and you're still busy? Can't it wait? You must eat with him and talk privately."
"Grandma, it's important. I must follow the boss's instructions," Abigail replied.
As she finished, she heard Sean coldly snort. Analise didn't hear him.
"Even if it's important, eat first! It's evening, off-work hours!" Analise said, going into the kitchen. "Julie, let's cook. Abigail needs a bite before work."
Abigail felt guilty. Despite complaining, Analise wanted to make her happy.
After placing her bag in her room, Abigail returned and sat beside Sean, helping with the garlic sprouts. They worked in silence.
Analise sensed tension. Abigail suddenly asked Sean, "Did your business trip go smoothly?"
"Didn't I report daily?" he replied nonchalantly.
She regretted asking, realizing he likely planned to make her apologize about Joan.
Analise left them alone, discreetly closing the kitchen door.
Sean finally broke the silence. "You're fast. Afraid I'll interfere with your L.Moon plans?"
"I don't want you to interfere like last time by pressuring others to break our contract," she responded calmly.
He looked at her silently.
"I'm going to your house tomorrow," she stated.
He sneered. "I won't play house with you tomorrow. I have work."
