I Want a Divorce

Listen to this chapter:

Alright. Let's put these useless things behind us. We have a few days before the banquet, so hurry and get to work. We'll worry about the rest later. What's important is that we earn money. Abigail wrapped her coat around herself and sat at the table.

Meanwhile, Luna sighed, seeing Abigail working so hard. "You're right. It's been busy lately, and the dresses haven't been dispatched to our clients. Several still need modifications. We have no time to waste."

As Luna expected, L.Moon was bustling before the banquet. Sean didn't come looking for Abigail, which she was glad about, as she had no time for him.

Finally, they felt relieved, well-dressed and standing before the courtyard where East Joy Talent held its banquet.

Earning that 2.8 million was extremely hard, and she somewhat regretted her stubborn decision to take nothing after divorcing Sean. She should have demanded compensation from that bastard.

"What are you thinking about? The flashing lights are blinding me," Luna tugged on Abigail's arm, excitedly pulling her forward and handing her two invitations. "Kevin sent us new invitations with both our names. We're guests now and don't have to worry."

Abigail added, "Keep these. We've attended a private event."

Luna joked, "Credits to him for being a good person. He's way more reliable than Sean, who always chooses others over us."

East Joy Talent lived up to its name as the best entertainment company. Even though it was a private event, the courtyard was decorated similarly to huge events like the Emmy Awards. Tycoons from various industries were gathered.

Just as Abigail stepped forward, she heard a commotion behind her. Turning around, she saw Joan in a black, high-slit dress exiting a car with Sean in a black suit.

Tonight, Joan had traded her usual sweet look for a more stunning one, with her hair tucked behind one ear and an eye-catching red ruby necklace.

Seeing reporters crowding the entrance, Abigail felt ridiculed. She and Sean had been married for three years, but he'd never brought her to such an event. She'd thought he disliked public events, but now she realized he simply disliked her.

Luna couldn't contain her criticism. "That bastard couple! How dare they show up here!"

"Let's go," Abigail swept her gaze across them and then, holding her dress, entered the venue with her head high. Moving quickly, she didn't notice the man's intense gaze behind her.

Joan sensed something was wrong with Sean; following his gaze, she saw two slender figures. The woman in the feathered halter dress was especially stunning; her waist looked so slim it might break. A lilac butterfly tattoo on her exposed back seemed to flutter with every step.

Even Joan was captivated. A trace of possessiveness flashed in her eyes as she linked arms with Sean. "Sean, what are you looking at?"

"Nothing," He buttoned his coat, composing himself. "Let's go inside."

Seeing he wouldn't elaborate, Joan wisely stopped asking and entered with him.

Although it was April, the night was chilly. Luna was there to promote their brand, and Abigail, still recovering from a fever, found a quiet corner while Luna socialized.

Abigail had just seated herself when she heard a familiar voice. "What's wrong with you?"

Turning, she saw Joan standing before a young woman in a decorative velvet dress, holding the wet, wine-stained hem.

"I'm so sorry, Miss Palmer. It wasn't intentional," the young woman hurriedly put down her wine glass and grabbed tissues.

Joan stepped back. "Don't touch it. It's ruined."

The young woman's hand froze. "I'm so sorry. I have a clean dress in my caravan. Would you like to change?"

"Who wants your clothes?" Joan was furious.

The young woman was at a loss, and the commotion attracted attention. Straightening her back, she asked carefully, "Then, what would you like me to do?"

"Compensate me," Joan was impatient. "Sean had L.Moon custom-make this dress. You know Alana stopped taking custom orders after her husband passed away, right? It was difficult for Sean to get her to make this for me."

The young woman's eyes widened. "H-How much is it?"

"120,000."
