When the two returned to the venue, they arrived just in time for the ball. Luna immediately drew Abigail into the crowd, allowing her no time to relax.

While altering Joan's dress earlier, Abigail had almost plucked all the feathers, revealing dark patterns underneath and making her look even more mysterious. She possessed a beautiful face and a heavenly figure, particularly a slender waist unmatched by anyone. Her entrance into the hall drew many admiring glances.

"Miss, may I have this dance?" A man approached her enthusiastically and politely.

"No—" She started to refuse, but noticing Luna's furious glare, she quickly smiled. "Of course."

He led her onto the dance floor. Because she wore a halter dress, he placed the back of his hand against her exposed back, a considerate gesture. However, Abigail remained uncomfortable. During her three-year marriage, she'd had limited contact with men other than Sean, let alone danced with any. Unsure how to alleviate the awkwardness, she appreciated his attempt at light conversation. "Your dress is beautiful," he said.

"Thank you. It's an Alana design from L.Moon," she replied, remembering her mission and smiling. "If your girlfriend is interested, I can arrange an appointment."

"Then, will you be my girlfriend?" His eyes shone with admiration and desire; his hand moved from her shoulder to her waist, this time his palm touching her skin. She felt something sticky on his palm and pushed him away. "What are you doing?" she exclaimed.

Her scream drew the attention of the surrounding crowd. The man seemed surprised by her reaction; his expression darkened. "We were just dancing. Why are you shouting? Didn't your company train you in social dancing?"

Abigail realized he mistook her for an entertainer and was trying to take advantage of her. Scoffing, she retorted, "My company trained me in social dances, but that applies to humans, not animals."

He muttered a curse and reached for her. Before he could touch her, someone grabbed his wrist. "Mr. Scott, many people are watching. It's inappropriate to harass a woman in public, wouldn't you agree?" The man chuckled.

Seeing Kevin, Troy Scott's anger subsided. He looked at Abigail inquisitively. "Your woman?"

Kevin, inwardly berating Troy's stupidity, forced a courteous smile. Sean would be furious if he heard that. "Nonsense. She's a friend."

Troy beamed. "So, you're Mr. Stewart's friend. My apologies. Let's meet again sometime."

Kevin toasted Troy before leading Abigail from the dance floor. "How did you get entangled with him?"

Rubbing her waist with a disdainful expression, she explained, "He invited me to dance and became handsy. Who is he?"

Glancing at Troy, Kevin replied with displeasure, "The second son of the Scott family. He's… just stay away from him." His gaze drifted to Joan's dress. His admiration was evident, though he almost misspoke. "Is this dress your… your boss's new design?"

Abigail readily praised the design. "Of course! Don't you think you got a great deal signing that contract?" she asked. She and Luna were essentially L.Moon's walking advertisements at the banquet.

Kevin clicked his tongue. His initial impression of 'Alana' was based solely on his assistant's praise, but seeing Abigail, the descriptions made sense. Her dress rivaled any well-known brand in craftsmanship and aesthetics.

L.Moon's only flaws were its small size, lack of major event experience, and overly private marketing approach. He sensed Abigail's potential for stardom. The thought of helping uncover this gem excited him. "Abigail, are you interested in making L.Moon an internationally exclusive couture house?"

That was Luna's and Abigail's wish, but they'd built their business on premium quality and reputation. Their success was due to Luna's tireless efforts. Additional resources from Kevin could accelerate their growth, but a partnership required a mutual exchange of benefits, not just resources.

Abigail raised an eyebrow, her eyes gleaming, but she suppressed her emotions and took a sip of water. "I'm just an assistant."

Kevin licked his lips, his smile widening. "Then, are you interested in becoming an assistant to an internationally renowned fashion designer?"

Rubbing her glass, she asked, "What's the matter? Are you trying to poach me?"

He hastily denied it. "I wouldn't dare. Our company is preparing for 'Top Designer,' an entertainment show to educate the audience about fashion design and modeling. We'd love for Alana to participate."

East Joy Talent's shows were the most popular. L.Moon's participation would be a massive leap forward, freeing Luna from her relentless search for resources and orders. The thought made Abigail's heart flutter.
