Abigail was naturally wary of Kevin, perhaps because she considered him Sean's friend, believing they were birds of a feather. She turned to Kevin, looking at him meaningfully. "I'm getting a divorce from Sean. You know that, right?"
Kevin paused, then shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah. I just found out a few days ago, but rest assured, I keep my personal and professional lives separate. Inviting Alana wasn't my idea alone; it was the entire design team's decision. We heard about her recent loss, and I didn't want the team to intrude insensitively. I thought I'd explore the situation, as we're acquaintances."
Only then did she ask, "May I ask if the show provides assistants, or is it up to the individual?"
He smiled. "Of course, you can bring your own assistants. After all, the audience only wants to see efficiency and results."
Assistants provided by the show could create conflicts, but it might also be biased; therefore, Kevin's show avoided such things. Abigail agreed, and her doubts vanished. She extended her hand. "I need to discuss this with Luna first. I hope we can work together."
Kevin's eyes lit up as he shook her hand. "I'll be waiting for good news, then." The next moment, he felt a chill and quickly released her hand, standing up. He handed her a business card. "You should enjoy yourself. I need to attend to other guests."
After bidding farewell to Abigail, Kevin rushed upstairs. In the hotel's open second-floor area, he saw Sean smoking and leaning against the handrail. Sean had a clear view of Kevin and Abigail chatting amiably.
Kevin touched his neck, recalling the chilling gaze. "Are you jealous, Sean?" he smirked.
Sean casually extinguished his cigarette and sneered. "Jealous? What a joke."
Kevin hurriedly explained, "We only have a professional relationship, and I won't touch anyone related to you. Let me tell you something—you might not know this, but my sister-in-law is—"
He was interrupted by Sean's cold voice. "You've said it already. We're divorced, so don't call her your sister-in-law anymore. Whether you like her or not is none of my business."
Sean's mind lingered on the image of Abigail and Kevin, smiling and close. They looked handsome and beautiful together; a great pair, anyone would say. The more he thought about it, the more agitated he became. He flicked his lighter, picked up his coat without looking back, and walked away. "They've only known each other a short while, yet they dare to discuss private matters already!"
Kevin, taken aback by Sean's icy attitude, didn't chase him. Instead, he slumped into a chair and teasingly finished his sentence: "Alana. Your wife is none other than the famous Alana."
Meanwhile, Abigail, feeling the hall was stuffy, went to the back garden for air. As she stepped out, someone grabbed her arm tightly. She knew who it was without looking back. However, seeing Sean, she pushed him away in frustration. "Stop being touchy-feely in public!" She feared Joan would see them and cause another scene, forcing her to compensate for 120,000!
Sean's expression froze. Earlier, she'd been affectionate with Kevin on the red carpet. Now, it was "touchy-feely" with her lawful husband?
"We aren't divorced yet," he said coldly. "You'd better be more cautious. People from the Graham Estate are watching."
Abigail sneered. "When you and Joan were on the red carpet, did you think about the Graham Estate watching? There were reporters everywhere! Did you lose your memory?" What a hypocrite!
Sean hummed softly, seemingly pleased. He raised an eyebrow. "Are you jealous?"
His question struck a nerve, leaving Abigail speechless. "You've got it all wrong. Jealousy comes from liking someone, and I have no reason to be jealous of you."
Sean's softened face turned cold again. He pinched her chin. "Do I need to remind you why you entered the Graham Family?"
She winced, slapping his hand away. "Mr. Graham, does that mean Joan can't bear children?"
Why was he bringing this up? Wasn't the purpose of her entering the Graham Family to give him children? Did he plan to tie her down for life even if he didn't want kids? She felt stupid for falling for him. He fooled around with other women while lecturing her from a moral high ground!
"Why are you mentioning her?" Sean frowned, not understanding the connection to Joan.
Abigail was equally puzzled. "Oh? Could it be that she isn't infertile, but you are?"
