I Want a Divorce

Listen to this chapter:

"Alright. That's settled, then. I'll get someone to sort out the contract with you."

Kevin was pleased. "Welcome! I won't let you guys down."

"I do have a small request, though," Abigail said quickly, remembering something before Kevin ended the call.

"Go ahead." The surrounding noise forced Kevin to increase the volume to hear Abigail's request.

"For this matter" Abigail paused. "I don't want Sean to find out about this." It wasn't worth jeopardizing the studio and production because of her situation with Sean.

Kevin was quiet for a moment before replying, "Sure I guess."

If I don't tell Sean anything, it won't count as him finding out, right? he thought.

After hanging up, he walked over to Sean, who had just arrived. "Oh, Sean. What brings you here?"

"What's the matter? Are you involved in something shady?" Sean leaned against the couch, crossing his long legs. His bony fingers tapped loudly against the glass table.

He'd arrived at an unfortunate moment. Though he hadn't overheard their conversation, he recognized Abigail's voice.

"I wish I were. Everyone knows shady deals bring in the most profits," Kevin said, winking as he approached Sean. "It's just a few of the company's latest projects."

Seeing Kevin's unwillingness to continue the conversation, Sean's eyes darkened. He didn't press further, but Kevin noticed a flash of displeasure. He knew Kevin was a man of his word and wouldn't betray him regarding Abigail, but the thought of them sharing a secret made him uncomfortable.

"Come. I just closed a major deal. I'll buy you a meal. You can choose the place today. We can talk at the table." Kevin patted Sean on the shoulder, clearly in a good mood.

"No, thanks. I've got work to do back at the office." Sean flicked Kevin's hand away. He'd come to discuss something, but he'd lost his patience and left without hesitation.

Kevin sighed. How frustrating. I gave my word, so I can't say anything. Sean doesn't even take the initiative to ask. I didn't even get to enjoy a good show.

On the way back to the office, Cameron noticed Sean's bad mood. His boss wore a long face the entire trip.

"Mr. Graham, we'll be passing L.Moon Studio on the way to the office. Why don't we drop the desserts off?" Cameron hesitated before making the suggestion.

Earlier that morning, Sean had instructed Cameron to buy a red velvet cake and other desserts from a luxury bakery in the city's west district, intending to bring them to Abigail for lunch. The sudden change of plans caught Cameron off guard.

"Toss everything," Sean said, leaning back and closing his eyes. His icy tone prevented Cameron from asking questions as they drove back.

Later that afternoon, after finishing his work, Sean checked the time. It was almost time to leave. He wondered if he should call Abigail.

However, as soon as the thought occurred, his brow furrowed. Honestly, they'd only been getting along peacefully for two days. Had it already become muscle memory for him? She's the one who doesn't want a divorce, he thought.

Suddenly, Sean's phone buzzed, interrupting his thoughts. He answered.

"Sorry to disturb you, Mr. Graham. I'm Sabrina Murphy." A crisp, professional voice spoke.

Sean took a moment to remember who she was. Sabrina, knowing Sean disliked wasting time, got straight to the point.
