I Want a Divorce

Listen to this chapter:

"You can handle these things yourself. From now on, you don't need to report them to me. If you need money, contact Cameron."

Sean's response was brief: "Just make sure she's never in danger."

Sabrina acknowledged his instructions and ended the call. Her gaze was complicated as she looked at Joan, who sat idly toying with her bracelet.

A smile played on Joan's lips as she asked expectantly, "What did he say?"

"He said yes. I'll just need to make arrangements with East Joy Talent." Kevin and Sean were close friends; the former would naturally agree for the latter's sake.

Nevertheless, Sabrina sensed a slight indifference in Sean's tone. She wasn't sure if she was mistaken.

Since Sean instructed Sabrina to manage Joan's career independently, she would proceed as she saw fit.

"I told you! I knew he'd say yes!" Joan smirked proudly, settling back and offering Sabrina a fresh cup of tea. "I'll be in your care, Ms. Sabrina."

"You seem to have a good relationship with Mr. Graham," Sabrina remarked casually, setting down her phone and taking a sip of tea, attempting to gather more information.

She had researched Joan before agreeing to manage her. Everyone said Joan was Sean's first love. She wouldn't have left her original company for a newcomer without that connection. After all, Graham International was a top business in the state, known nationwide—managing the future wife of its president seemed a sure win.

"Yeah, we have a good relationship," Joan agreed with a bashful smile, though her fingers, hidden under the table, gripped her phone so tightly her knuckles whitened. "But, as you know, marrying someone from a family like that isn't easy."

Oh. His family disapproved, but they were committed. As long as Sean loved Joan, they'd eventually marry.

Sabrina felt reassured. She calmly looked at Joan and said, "You've been in the industry a while. You know how it works: fame and the best projects usually go to celebrities with prominent backgrounds or influential support."

Pausing, she added, fearing Joan missed her point, "Graham International has vast influence, including in entertainment. Leveraging your advantages becoming a top celebrity will be inevitable."

Joan would be foolish not to utilize Sean, her best resource.

Joan's eyes flashed. She reached into her Hermès bag, produced an exquisite box, placed it on the table, and slid it toward Sabrina. "Seanie gave me this watch a few days ago, but it's not my style. It matches your outfit, though. See if you like it."

Sabrina's eyes lit up at the Rolex logo. She considered refusing but decided against it. Joan was clearly solidifying their connection.

She graciously opened the box. A diamond-studded watch gleamed, its beautifully carved dial inlaid with gold. It glistened in the light.

She recognized it: a limited-edition model worth $150,000. The $150,000 gift further confirmed Joan's importance to Sean.

Her smile warmed. "Don't worry. I can't guarantee top billing, but becoming famous won't be a problem with me."
