Chapter 68: Exceptionally Seductive
Kevin subtly promoted the investor by introducing tea culture and casually mentioning their name.
When it was time for dessert, he stood beside Abigail, addressing the live camera. “In ancient times, these pastries were called ‘puffs.’ Doesn’t that sound interesting?”
His captivating presence, especially his seductive, fox-like smile, elicited immediate praise in the comments section.
He then turned to Abigail, saying, “Miss Quinn, make these puffs well and show them to everyone.”
Abigail, guessing this was the investor's request, nodded in agreement.
Kevin initially intended to help, but Sean silently approached. Kevin nodded to Sean, stepping aside and saying, “Alright, you can help her.”
Meanwhile, Luna wondered what had possessed Sean. She suspected he couldn't bear to be away from Abigail.
Joan, flour dusting her hands, saw Sean helping Abigail and exclaimed in frustration, “Sean, can you help me too?”
Sean, watching Abigail knead the dough, turned to Joan and asked, “Help you with what?” He hadn't interfered with Abigail's work and didn't intend to; he was simply observing.
Joan was speechless, shaking her head and returning to her desserts.
The audience speculated:
‘Sean doesn't seem keen on getting his hands dirty, yet Joan wants his help?’
‘Seems like Sean dislikes Joan. Could her rumors be self-staged?’
‘Didn't Joan suspect Alana got design information from Sean? Her lie was exposed with the preliminary draft. Shouldn't she apologize?’
This sparked a heated debate between fan groups. Joan's fans believed she owed no apology, viewing her actions as a courageous stand for fairness. They argued that if her behavior was wrong, no one would dare participate in similar programs. The disagreement escalated into a fierce argument.
Meanwhile, Abigail skillfully created a plate of rabbit-shaped puffs—soft, with delectable flowing egg yolks. She arranged them beautifully, making them incredibly enticing.
Kevin was about to try one when she handed a puff to Sean. “I’m not sure how they taste, but I made them with less sugar, so they should suit your taste buds.”
Everyone turned to Sean. Her casual tone suggested close familiarity.
Sean took the puff, his expression complex. “You made this for me?”
With a nonchalant shrug, she raised an eyebrow. “If you don’t want to eat it, why are you standing here watching?”
Kevin chuckled at Abigail's words.
Sean, his emotions evident, took the puff and walked away.
The arguing audience quickly shifted their focus:
‘Does Miss Quinn treat Sean like an adorable pet begging for treats? My heart melts! What soul connection is this!’
‘These two aren't strangers! Their interaction is so natural! And Miss Quinn knowing Sean's preference for low-sugar treats? If they're not secretly involved, I'll livestream myself eating a shoe!’
‘Eating a shoe won't do you any favors!’
Joan, however, was displeased. Sean disliked all her pastries.
As Sean gazed at Abigail's rabbit-shaped puff, Luna whispered to Abigail, “Aren’t you being too obvious? Viewers might suspect your relationship with Sean.”
Abigail remained unfazed. She gently pushed a strand of hair from her face, replying, “I didn’t invite him. Besides, Joan owes us an apology.”
She wasn't sure if it was retaliation. Joan's unfounded accusation of Abigail using backstage deals had angered her, forcing Abigail to apologize to Sean. Abigail wasn't one to be easily pushed around.
