Chapter 120
Victor’s rage erupted, his roar like that of a beast. Jada, witnessing this outburst, found herself questioning everything. She’d been slapped three times in two days—a fact that, ironically, left her unusually calm. She addressed her furiously pacing father, saying, "I don't think killing him now will be that easy, Dad. Mr. Larry kept calling him 'Mr. Severin,' indicating a significant relationship. Killing Severin while Larry and his men are away would still offend Draco Hall."
She paused, then continued, "Draco Hall's people aren't stupid. Larry and Blade are cunning, and they know we're not on good terms with Severin. If he dies suddenly, they'll be at our door!"
Prunella and Cecil, still hesitant to give up on Patrick, who lay in the hospital, asked, "Are you sure there's nothing you can do?"
Victor, still seething, exploded at them. "You dare ask me that? If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been humiliated and forced to kneel! This is all your fault! Third-tier families like ours can't afford to offend Draco Hall!"
Prunella attempted to speak, but Victor cut her off. "Leave, and never come near me again!" he roared.
Cecil took Prunella’s hand, and they left.
Easton and Lucy entered, feigning ignorance. Easton, displaying concern, asked, "Uncle Victor, Jada, what's happening? Who dared to offend you?"
Victor, his anger still simmering, merely glanced at Easton and asked, "Why are you here?"
Easton offered a clumsy excuse. "We were going to pick Jada up for shopping, but this… this isn't ideal."
Jada, keeping the full story hidden, replied with an icy expression, "It's nothing. We dealt with Severin, but Larry and Blade from Draco Hall intervened. My father and I were humiliated."
Easton feigned outrage, clenching his fists. "That name makes my blood boil! He ruined my wedding, and this missing finger is his fault!" He gestured to his hand.
Victor looked at Easton’s hand, then said, "I’ve heard about the Loughs. Severin's supposedly skilled in medicine; Henry apparently owed him a favor. What’s surprising is his connection to Draco Hall. We underestimated him."
"Didn't you say Severin was a nobody? How is he connected to Draco Hall? If I hadn't believed your nonsense, we wouldn't be facing this embarrassment!" She clearly blamed him.
