Chapter 141

Three new luxury cars soon arrived outside a plaza near the five-star hotel.

After Megan emerged from her car, she approached in a good mood. "Severin," she said, "I was going to make you buy us an expensive dinner to test your wealth, but since you bought me this car, we can just eat something simple." (Please remove the promotional text.)

Judith and Maurice exchanged smiles.

Megan had been targeting Severin from the beginning. Her attitude visibly changed after he bought her the car. Although still somewhat snobbish, her ceasing to target their son and accepting Severin as Diane's husband was a positive change.

They knew Diane deserved better than Severin. His past incarceration and Diane's resulting suffering, along with years of teasing from others, meant he owed her considerable amends.

"Wow, a rare moment of reason!" Diane remarked.

"Diane, it's for your own good," Megan quickly explained. "I was testing him. I didn't want to see you suffer with him. You're so talented, and he's the reason you suffered!"

Diane smiled faintly. "Alright, let's go. Order anything you want. This is the first time he's treating us all. I don't want you to think he's stingy!"

"He's not stingy! Look at the car!" Megan smiled. Then, she added, "But the dowry and cars are irrelevant. We won't accept a cent less than the promised dowry!"

"Don't worry. I'll pay the full amount," Severin replied with a faint smile. Seven million dollars was nothing to him.

They quickly arrived at the hotel restaurant and requested a private room. They ordered a large quantity of food.

Megan only ordered three dishes this time, while Diane ordered most of the food. They also ordered several bottles of red wine. The lunch cost approximately sixteen thousand dollars. Afterward, they returned to the plaza.

"Judith, Maurice, you've never been to our house. It's still early. Why don't you come over?" Felicia politely invited.

While Severin paid the bill, Felicia observed him closely, noting his lack of concern. The amount clearly didn't faze him, leading her to believe he was wealthier than he appeared—possibly even nouveau riche—although she didn't know his source of wealth.

That wasn't her concern. She was confident she'd receive the dowry.

Judith, surprised by Felicia's politeness, readily agreed. "Sure! I think Severin doesn't know where your house is."

Severin smiled faintly. "You're right. I should see where Diane used to live."

"Let's go," Diane said, rolling her eyes but feeling secretly pleased.

She sensed her mother and sister's lessened disapproval of Severin after his actions today. Once he transferred the dowry to Felicia's account, she believed they would fully accept him.

Yes, she knew her family was snobbish, but she deeply hoped for their acceptance and blessing.
