Chapter 53
"Haha, bravo, Severin! I can't believe you used Mr. Henry's lunch treat to steal the keys to his villa! You knew they weren't residents, so you swiped the keys and planned to live there yourself!" Easton roared with laughter. "I've seen shameless people, but none as shameless as you!"
Lucy chimed in, "Poverty drove you mad! Stealing a key isn't far-fetched—you even asked my family to return the dowry." She addressed the three security guards. "He extorted $190,000 from me today. A better car—an Audi or BMW—would have fooled you into letting him in. Luckily, he couldn't afford it!"
Jada agreed. "She's right. If you let him in and he steals from the villas, you'll be held responsible!"
The three security guards looked frightened.
Meanwhile, Maurice and Judith stood aside, their faces grim. They doubted the accusations against Severin.
Judith, firmly believing her son, said, "Stop making wild accusations! My son would never do such a thing! Don't slander him without proof!"
"Slander?" Lucy smirked, crossing her arms. "The key is proof! What more do you need?"
"I agree," Jada added. "This villa is worth nearly eleven million dollars and belongs to the Longhorns. No further evidence is needed!" She looked at Severin and the others with disdain.
Diane, who had been silently observing from her car, finally intervened. "What if Severin didn't steal it? Will you bet on that?"
Easton sneered, "Oh, Miss Diane, where'd you get the nerve? Your family didn't defend you today. Still their beloved daughter? You and Severin are a perfect match! Did you hit your head? Something's wrong with your brain!"
"Repeat that," Severin growled, fists clenched, ready to attack.
Severin's parents restrained him, urging him to calm down.
"Hmph, lucky my bodyguards aren't here, or I'd settle the score for this morning. But I'll get even sooner or later!" Easton sneered, then addressed the guards. "Call the police! He stole the key!"
The largest guard said, "Sir, I've contacted our head of security. Management is calling the Longhorns. He'll be arrested if we confirm the theft."
"Good. We'll wait. I can't wait to see him arrested! This feels good! If we hadn't been here, he'd have been let in!" Easton laughed.
Within a minute, the head of security arrived.
"Called the police? He must be arrested!" The fat guard stepped forward, but the head of security slapped him. "Enough! Mr. Severin is the new owner of Villa 808!" He handed Severin the key respectfully. "Sir, my subordinate didn't know you're the owner. Your car isn't registered, causing this misunderstanding."
"Impossible! You're mistaken!" Easton exclaimed in disbelief.
