Chapter 73

"AGHHH!" A bloodcurdling scream pierced the air. Patrick clutched his groin and squatted, nearly fainting from the pain.

"HRAAH! AGHH!" His screams continued, his face contorted in agony.

Diane, still reeling from shock, felt a surge of joy. Patrick was a sleaze and a pervert, and she was grateful Severin had arrived in time; otherwise, she would have been assaulted.

"Let's go, Severin!" Diane, enduring the pain, tugged at Severin's arm.

Severin smiled faintly, looked at the tightly shut secret door in the corner, and said, "Show yourselves. Don't hide there like cowards!"

The three people hiding inside paled with fright. They hadn't expected Severin to be so ruthless—his kick had rendered Patrick's crotch useless. He was the epitome of fearlessness, and when no one answered, he approached the door. They feared he wouldn't kill them swiftly. After all, a poor man like him had nothing to lose against wealthier individuals like them.

"There are other people here?" Diane frowned in bewilderment. She'd spent more time in the room than he had, yet noticed nothing unusual, let alone sensed anyone else's presence.

Severin, without another word, kicked the secret door open, sending it flying. "Come out here!" he yelled.

Easton, Lucy, and Jada emerged trembling from the inner room, their faces ashen with fear.

"Mr. Easton? Lucy? And Miss Jada?" Diane was displeased to see them. It seemed they'd conspired and planned everything in advance.

"Hehe, this restaurant is Stones' property, so why would my presence be weird?" Jada chuckled, her arrogance evident as the daughter of a third-tier upper-class family.

"So this is your restaurant! You were involved in scheming against my wife and me!" Severin walked toward Jada, glaring icily at her.

"Hehe, and what if I was? You've met the others downstairs, right? I called them here. I don't know how you reached this floor, but you won't leave this restaurant without my say-so!" Jada folded her arms. "I'm the eldest daughter of a third-tier upper-class family. What are you going to do, hit me? You should be begging for my forgiveness! Otherwise, you, your wife, daughter, and parents will all suffer!" A sharp slap landed on Jada's face, leaving a red mark. "How dare you slap me!" Jada covered her face, shocked he'd dared strike her despite her social standing. 'He's digging his own grave!' she thought.

"You threatened my family despite being from a lowly third-tier family? You overestimate yourself. I, Severin, am not easily bullied. If you anger me, I can wipe the Stones from Brookbourn's existence. Try me."

Severin hated being threatened with his family's well-being. Those who dared were as good as dead.

"You!" Jada fumed, unaware of what had happened downstairs and why One-Eye and his men hadn't arrived.
