Chapter 95

"Oh, yes! I'm going to the amusement park with Dad and Mom! Hurray!" Selene was so excited she jumped and skipped. She soon ran back to Diane. "Mom, maybe we shouldn't go. You said we're poor and should spend wisely."

Diane was heartbroken. She loved her thoughtful daughter. Every time Selene wanted something, Diane repeated the same caution, resulting in Selene always considering the family's finances.

"Silly girl," Diane said, touching Selene's head and kneeling to lift her. "Your dad's back. Remember how I said he had to work elsewhere to provide for us? Now he's successful, and we don't need to be thrifty anymore!"

She placed Selene in the back of the car, sat beside Severin, and said, "Let's go, go, go!" Severin smiled and drove toward the amusement park.

Meanwhile, Felicia, Megan, and William were heading home.

"I'm so angry!" Felicia exclaimed. "Severin bet me seven million dollars! What a joke! He couldn't afford that even if he sold his organs!"

Felicia remained furious. Megan agreed, adding, "He can dream about me washing his feet! He must have brainwashed Diane; otherwise, why would she refuse to come home?"

William pondered before speaking. "Seven million dollars and a wedding should be enough."

Felicia frowned. "What do you mean? Enough for what?"

William smiled bitterly. "I suspect Severin's selling the villa. It could fetch thirteen million dollars. He'd use seven million for the dowry and the rest for the wedding. Doesn't that seem sufficient?"

Felicia was speechless. "He's going to sell the villa? I hadn't considered that!"

Megan nearly fainted. "Oh no! Does that mean I really have to wash his feet? It's mortifying!"

Felicia laughed. "If he's giving seven million, it's mine—more than Edward offered. I'll just accept him as my son-in-law. I'm not at a disadvantage."
