Chapter 99
Felicia panicked when she heard Severin couldn't sell the house. The $7.5 million dowry was all she'd been anticipating; the money was hers if Severin gave it to her, and she wouldn't relinquish it for anything. She planned to spend it as she pleased.
She couldn't care less about cultivating a relationship with the Longhorn family for the Liberty City project. Any money the Shanahans earned wouldn't benefit her.
Catherine said earnestly, "He cannot sell the house. Henry just gave it to him, and even if it's his, selling it would insult Henry. Do you think he'll give us a Liberty City quota if he's upset?"
William frowned. "You're right. We'd rely on Severin if Stanley fails, but if Severin sells the house, all hope is gone!"
"You must persuade him not to sell!" Catherine added emphatically.
"Okay," Felicia said, nodding despite her displeasure.
After a moment, the old lady continued, "As for apologizing to Diane, that's out of the question. She married Severin; let her live her life. Hehe, she's become arrogant since moving to Dragon Lake Vista. She ignores us! But tell her we've let bygones be bygones. She's welcome to visit with Severin and Selene. We need to ease our relationship. We might even use Severin to build a relationship with Henry!"
Felicia smiled awkwardly, feeling helpless.
Catherine turned to Stanley. "I'll give you a week, Stanley. If you haven't secured the opportunity, we'll ask Severin for help!"
"Don't worry, Grandma," Stanley assured her, though he wasn't optimistic.
Severin took Selene and Diane to the amusement park, driving them home after they'd played.
Meanwhile, Patrick's parents visited the Stones. Patrick's father, Cecil, said to Victor, the head of the Stone family, "Victor, you must get justice for my son! He's my only son, and he's now infertile! Will this end the Reece family line?"
Victor was angry. "Don't worry, Cecil. This happened in our restaurant. We're family. I've paid Patrick's treatment fees and allocated three hundred thousand for his recovery."
Victor felt terrible about the accident in his restaurant and could only compensate with money.
Patrick's mother wailed, "Victor, my son's manhood is useless! No matter how much you pay, it won't help! Who did this? I want the culprit to pay! I want them to be sterile too!"
Victor frowned and turned to Jada. "What happened last night, Jada? Why did this happen to your cousin in our restaurant? I thought that specific brand hired thugs?"
"Yes, Jada! Tell us! My son was fine yesterday morning! How did this happen?" Patrick's mother wailed again.
