Chapter 841

“The person capable of such tampering must be a skilled martial artist with profound internal energy,” Emmanuel stated. Ignoring Ashton's skepticism, he continued, “They used their internal energy to tamper with the tire, allowing them to control when it would burst.”

“Nonsense!” Ashton exploded. “Do you think anyone would believe this absurdity? As if there’s anyone in the world capable of that!”

Emmanuel offered a wry smile.

“What’s with that smile? Do you think I have a low cultivation level, or that I’m ignorant?” Ashton demanded.

Insulted by Ashton’s pride, she grabbed Emmanuel by the collar. A single glance from Emmanuel caused her to release him; she remembered the consequences of tearing his clothes the last time.

“If you don’t believe it, I can demonstrate it for you,” Emmanuel said calmly.

Roselynn was slightly surprised, but Ashton was stunned. Gritting her teeth, she said, “Fine! Let me see what you’re capable of!” She didn't believe Emmanuel possessed such ability; it sounded like utter nonsense. However, she would soon be proven wrong.

Using her own vehicle, Ashton conducted the experiment. Emmanuel calculated the tire would burst after approximately 300 yards, and it did. Ashton’s quick reflexes, excellent driving skills, and mental preparedness prevented a crash into the guardrail.

“W-What the hell?!” Ashton exclaimed, jamming on the brakes, reeling from incredulity.

The Lowe siblings grinned. “Do you believe now that you’re ignorant, Miss Ashton?”

Unexpectedly, Ashton flew into a rage. Drawing a gun, she pointed it at Emmanuel's head. “Are you still denying that you’re the murderer? You got rid of the deceased for your sister because of your family conflict with him, didn’t you?”

Roselynn laughed. “This female inspector’s imagination is quite impressive, but her logic is a bit far-fetched and presumptuous.”

Even with a gun to his head, Emmanuel remained fearless. “I provided you with this information because I suspect this matter is related to Magnus. When I went to the hospital, Rhea told me Magnus was there that day for charity work and had contact with the Oatleys. Sebastian’s death might be related to his refusal of some request from Magnus.” Ashton remained unconvinced.

“Don’t spout nonsense! I’m more inclined to believe you planned this murder than Mr. Magnus. You’ve proven your ability, yet you still want to shift the blame?”

Emmanuel sneered. “Miss Ashton, your doubts are pointless. I have a perfect alibi. The surveillance footage of my sister and the Cloudscape Mall can prove my innocence.” He waved his hand dismissively. “I’m sorry, but I have issues to attend to. Goodbye.”

Watching them leave, Ashton lowered her gun, then remembered her burst tire. “Damn you, Emmanuel Lowe, I’ll make you pay sooner or later! Hmph!” She angrily pounded the steering wheel.

The next day at lunchtime, Mackenzie asked Emmanuel to drive her to the hospital to visit Alessandra. Alessandra was anxiously talking to Roselynn. “I don’t even know how to criticize you, Roselynn! How did things escalate to this point? We were once good in-laws, and now we’ve become enemies! As for what’s happened with the Oatley family, I wasn’t involved, so it’s hard to say who’s right or wrong. See if there’s any way to resolve this hatred so that we can part ways amicably…”

Roselynn silently peeled an apple, listening to her mother. She knew she couldn't part on good terms with the Oatleys, and Alessandra's health couldn't handle more stress. Roselynn feared saying the wrong thing, so silence seemed best.

“Why aren’t you responding to me? You’re really driving me crazy!” Alessandra cried, lightly pounding her chest. She was already anxious, and now her daughter's affair with Jaxton had gone viral, branding her a demoness.

Roselynn was anxious, torn between speaking and knowing silence wasn't a solution.

“Mom!” Mackenzie’s voice came from behind, followed by Emmanuel and Rhea. Rhea, a hospital nurse, envied the couple. She thought they were a perfect match, more so than she and Emmanuel. She blushed at her own thoughts.

“Mackenzie, you’re here!” Alessandra’s face brightened at the sight of her daughter-in-law.

“Yeah. Mom, are you feeling okay?” Mackenzie gently held Alessandra’s hand.

“I’m fine, I’m fine, you don’t need to worry about me!” Alessandra held her daughter-in-law’s hand tightly.

Roselynn muttered, “She acts all sickly in front of her daughter and miraculously recovers when she sees her daughter-in-law!”

Alessandra glared. “Go away! I asked you to talk earlier, and you remained silent. Now, you’re interrupting!”

Roselynn rolled her eyes, stood, and offered the best seat to Mackenzie. Mackenzie smiled, finding the family's playful atmosphere nice.

“Mom, please don’t lecture Roselynn anymore,” Mackenzie said. “She didn’t want any of this to happen. Don’t worry. Roselynn is young and beautiful. She will definitely find a better family to marry into!” Mackenzie's words had a greater effect than the same words from Emmanuel or Roselynn.

“If Roselynn doesn’t mind, I actually have a suitable candidate to introduce to her,” Mackenzie said. She knew a wealthy heir and, though she’d never been a matchmaker before, felt compelled to help Roselynn.

“Really?” Alessandra was surprised. Emmanuel was astonished; Mackenzie was introducing a man to Roselynn! Roselynn was also surprised. “Mackenzie, you’re really overestimating me. That man must be extraordinary. I’m not in a position to aim that high!” After Jaxton, she was traumatized by wealthy heirs.

Chapter 843

“Yes, he is indeed an heir from a business family, but he’s very easygoing. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to introduce him to you,” Mackenzie said earnestly.

Emmanuel spoke up, “Roselynn, trust Mackenzie’s judgment. If she thinks he’s a good guy, then he must be excellent.”

Roselynn teased, “Hehe, like you, Manny?”

Emmanuel realized his words sounded self-praising. Mackenzie coldly hummed, “He wasn’t my choice!” Emmanuel felt embarrassed.

“Alright, Roselynn, since Mackenzie recommended him, you must go on this blind date!” Alessandra urged.

“Got it, Mom.” Roselynn nodded; she wanted to uphold Mackenzie's pride.

Ruby Zimmerman barged in, feigning exaggerated concern for Alessandra. She greeted Mackenzie and Emmanuel, “Ms. Quillen, you’re here with Emmanuel too! What a coincidence!” Mackenzie remained expressionless; Emmanuel snorted disdainfully.

Roselynn retorted, “Don’t you ever get tired of acting? Do you have no idea what happened to my mother?!” Roselynn blamed Ruby for Alessandra's fainting spell due to exaggerating the news about her situation.

Ruby feigned innocence, claiming she only meant to show concern and had exchanged numbers with Alessandra. Roselynn scoffed, "Sure, you can inform her, but who permitted you to exaggerate it?! I’m the demoness of Yeringham who murdered her husband and father-in-law, eh?!"

Ruby cried, addressing Alessandra, “Ms. Cadigan, please testify for me. I really didn’t mean it! I didn’t say those things. I was just relaying what others said!”

Alessandra stopped Roselynn. “Ruby meant well. How can you condemn her?! Who knew how much longer you and Manny would hide it from me if she hadn’t told me about your situation?!”

Roselynn snorted and remained silent. Ryder and Tia entered, genuinely concerned for Alessandra. Alessandra beamed at their concern. Ruby’s teeth clenched in frustration. She had hoped to cozy up to Mackenzie and the Lowes through Ryder, but her plan failed. Her only hope was Alessandra.

Rhea announced, “Ms. Cadigan, your dialysis is done, and you need a new urinary bag.”

Chapter 844

Ruby volunteered, “Let me do it, Miss! I’m good at this!” She was good at sucking up, hoping to impress Alessandra. Her proactiveness shocked everyone, but most knew her motives.

Rhea didn’t argue. Mackenzie’s phone rang. She learned that the Oatleys had breached their contract, threatening bankruptcy. Shareholders demanded an immediate meeting.

Mackenzie hung up, telling Alessandra, “Mom, there’s an emergency meeting at the company. I have to go back immediately!”

“Oh, I see. In that case, let Manny take you!” Alessandra said.

Emmanuel advised, “Roselynn, Ryder, take good care of Mom!”

Roselynn sarcastically said, “With Ruby here, we don’t need to do anything. She’ll take care of everything!”

Ruby’s attitude changed instantly. “Is she your mother or mine? Why should I serve her? Seriously, you people are crazy!” She dropped the urinary bag and left.

“Mom, have you seen her true colors now? You have to stay far away from her from now on. Block her contact immediately!” Roselynn implored.

Alessandra sighed, confused by Ruby's sudden change.

Emmanuel caught up with Mackenzie. “Mackenzie, is Terence Group really facing a bankruptcy crisis?”

Mackenzie smiled. “Do you think Terence Group is so fragile? Is your wife so incompetent that she can’t even handle a small matter?”

Emmanuel sighed in relief. “I accidentally overheard you discussing the company facing a bankruptcy crisis.”

“I said it on purpose,” Mackenzie smirked. “It’s to make your mom see Ruby’s true colors. Women like her ultimately show up for their own benefit. If I were to go bankrupt, do you think she would still fawn over your mom?”

Emmanuel understood. He saw Ruby hurrying away. He secretly gave his wife a thumbs-up. Mackenzie’s expression turned serious.

Chapter 845

Emmanuel dropped Mackenzie off at Terence Group. As he was leaving, Sheldon called out to him.

“Sheldon? What are you doing here?!” Emmanuel was excited to see his former comrade.

“Haha, did you just realize I’m working in Terence Group?” Sheldon said, envious and admiring. He explained he’d helped with a project and was hired, then transferred to Security and promoted to captain.

“Haha, security does suit you well!” Emmanuel laughed, aware of Sheldon’s past lack of work ethic.

“Hehe, security is not bad either. The treatment at Terence Group is much better than at Cloud Construction!” Sheldon whispered, “I finally understand why you were so determined to get rid of Mr. Webber and his gang back then. It turns out that you’re Ms. Quillen’s boyfriend, huh?!”

Emmanuel smiled and let it slide. Sheldon commented on Emmanuel’s skill in picking up girls.

“Why don’t I have such luck? Are my ancestors even looking down at me?!” Sheldon sighed. He then told Emmanuel about a mole in Terence Group who’d bribed Mr. Webber, causing recent financial problems. Ignacio Wallace invested 2 billion then sold his shares, suggesting sabotage.

Emmanuel frowned. “Where did you hear this news?”

Sheldon stammered, “What I said is useless. If you want to know, you must ask Mr. Webber!”

Emmanuel immediately headed to his car. “Emmanuel sure is impressive and authoritative. No wonder Ms. Quillen likes him,” Sheldon sighed.

Emmanuel contacted Eve and Samuel, arranging a meeting.

Chapter 846

Half an hour later, Emmanuel and his group entered a private club, Samuel’s base. Samuel, initially with a woman, was startled by Eve’s presence.

“Isn’t this the leader of the Wolf Warrior Society, Miss Eve Thompson?” Samuel trembled.

Eve questioned, “Who are you trying to be familiar with?”

Samuel was dumbfounded. He’d underestimated Emmanuel, realizing he was the Wolf Warrior Society’s boss.

“Um… What brings you here today, Mr. Lowe?” Samuel’s tone changed.

Emmanuel stated, “Mr. Webber, if you want us to remain on good terms, I have some questions for you today. So, I hope you won’t hide anything from me. Did a mole in Terence Group instruct you to occupy the project site?”

Samuel hesitated. Eve cracked her whip, splitting the table in half. Samuel was terrified.

“If you don’t speak honestly, this table will be your fate!” Eve said.

Samuel confessed that the son of a Terence Group shareholder paid him five million to disrupt the project.

“Alright, hand me the evidence.” Emmanuel said.

Chapter 847

After meeting Samuel, Emmanuel went to pick up Mackenzie. Lexi called him, sounding anxious.

“Mr. Lowe, where are you?”

“I’m almost at the company entrance. What’s up?”

“Can you come up to the top floor?” Lexi said. “Lower-level employees are forbidden to approach the conference room because of the shareholders’ meeting. But I worry Ms. Quillen and Ms. Beatrix can’t handle it alone. Can you come and keep them safe?”

“Okay, I’ll be there right away!”

Emmanuel frowned. The shareholders were planning to cause trouble.

Sheldon approached Emmanuel. “Manny, you’re back!”

“I’m going into the company. Don’t stop me!” Emmanuel said, heading for the elevator.

Security was tight, but Sheldon allowed Emmanuel entry. “I won’t stop you, Manny, but you need a key card to go up to the top floor in the elevator. Don’t put me in a tough spot; please climb the stairs,” Sheldon said.

“Fine!” Emmanuel climbed the stairs.

He heard angry shouts from the conference room.

“Insolent! Do you think the shareholders’ meeting is a place for little girls like you to make a scene?! Liam!”

A slap echoed. Emmanuel heard Beatrix scream and rushed to the glass door. He saw Oscar's son, Liam, slapping Beatrix. Rage filled him. He banged on the door.

Mackenzie was surprised to see Emmanuel. Why was he here?

Emmanuel kicked open the locked glass door.

Chapter 848

Everyone was dumbfounded by Emmanuel’s strength.

“Beatrix, what happened? Why did this guy hit you?” Emmanuel asked, pointing at Liam.

Beatrix explained they pressured Mackenzie to use their father’s belongings for business. She objected.

Emmanuel knew the shareholders’ meeting revolved around those two things.

Oscar scolded Beatrix condescendingly. “The Quillens’ energy business is facing bankruptcy. If we don’t use those two items to attract substantial investment, Terence Group could go bankrupt at any moment! What would a little girl like you know? Keep spouting nonsense, and I’ll teach you a lesson!”

“Try me! Lay a finger on Beatrix, and I’ll put your death on the agenda!” Emmanuel raged.

Liam wanted to berate Emmanuel but was frightened by his gaze.

Emmanuel kicked Liam in the abdomen. Liam slammed into the conference table, shattering it.

“Damn it, where did this barbarian come from? How dare he act so arrogantly at the Terence Group shareholders’ meeting? Get him–ah!” A man tried to attack Emmanuel, but Emmanuel threw a piece of paper, cutting the man’s mouth. Everyone trembled.

Emmanuel’s demeanor changed; his presence was commanding. Everyone fell silent.

Beatrix advised, “Emmanuel, calm down. Violence won’t solve the problem.”

Emmanuel turned to the Blues, “You’re right; violence won’t solve the problem, but it can relieve some anger! Anyone who dares to mistreat the women in my family won’t get any mercy from me!” Beatrix was touched.

Chapter 849

Liam yelled, “Quick… call the security, deal with this barbarian!”

Emmanuel sneered, “Sure! Go ahead and call the security! Have them give this guy a good beating, the one who’s been taking advantage and intentionally disrupting the company’s projects, then arrest him!”

The shareholders whispered. Liam was surprised.

Mackenzie said coldly, “Emmanuel, although we’re close, without evidence, you shouldn’t make baseless accusations in a situation like this!”

Emmanuel secretly appreciated his wife’s cleverness.

“Okay, since you put it that way, Ms. Quillen, I shall present the evidence!”

Liam’s countenance worsened; he suspected Mackenzie orchestrated this.

Mackenzie said, “Very well, I’ll give you the chance. If you can’t provide substantial evidence, as the CEO of Terence Group, I’ll have to punish you for causing trouble!”

Mackenzie was troubled by Oscar and Liam, who had acquired Ignacio's shares and were challenging her authority.

Emmanuel swore, “I’m most afraid of your punishments, Ms. Quillen, so I will do my best!”

Mackenzie felt flustered by Emmanuel’s cheesy words. Beatrix was also surprised.

Emmanuel presented evidence from Samuel. The shareholders were shocked to see chat records and transfer records between Liam and Samuel.

“What a hypocrite! He actually paid someone to disrupt his own company’s projects?!”

Liam denied it. Emmanuel smirked. Beatrix felt a surge of satisfaction.

Chapter 850

Samuel revealed Liam’s responsibility and willingness to cooperate with the police. Liam was shocked.

“What do you have to say for yourself now, Liam Blue?” Emmanuel asked aggressively.

Liam collapsed. Sheldon and security guards rushed in. Mackenzie ordered, “Security, restrain Liam Blue and call the police to take him away!”

Sheldon was dumbfounded. Emmanuel sighed at Sheldon's slow comprehension. “Sheldon, don’t you want a promotion and a raise?”

Sheldon snapped back to reality and escorted Liam out.

Oscar didn’t protect his son. He had planned to challenge Mackenzie’s management and compel the Quillens to release the Heart of the Sun prototype. Emmanuel’s intervention overturned his plan.

Oscar said, “Emmanuel, I won’t argue with you about Liam’s matter, but the shareholders’ meeting will continue. You’re not a shareholder, so you must leave immediately!”

Emmanuel responded, “Oscar Blue, Liam is your son. Are you saying you’re unaware of his actions? Are you trying to bankrupt Terence Group with these actions?”

The shareholders stared coldly at Oscar. They wanted Terence Group to profit, but bankruptcy would mean they lost everything.

Oscar said, “Don’t spew nonsense, Emmanuel Lowe! I have nothing to do with what Liam did! As the second largest shareholder of the company, I stand for the interests of Terence Group. That’s why I propose restarting the development and mass production of the Heart of the Sun energy component! This revolutionary energy product far surpasses oil, natural gas, and other traditional energy sources. It’s bound to bring substantial commercial profits to the company! Shareholders, don’t you want to get rich? Do you really believe that the Quillens would rather see Terence Group go bankrupt than allow this product to succeed?” The shareholders nodded in agreement.
