“We’re here today to discuss this with you. We disagree with your idea of training Cedric. Are you certain he’s the right fit for this? You haven’t even married yet. What you’re doing is simply asking for trouble,” Bryce said, sighing.

His words clearly took Scarlett aback. She asked, “Mr. Payne, what do you mean?”

If the board had rejected her for that reason alone, they could have simply gotten married sooner.

“Lettie, I want to clarify that I’m not singling you out. Leroy is Ashbourne’s youngest and most promising doctor, while Cedric’s background remains a mystery. Are you aware of his reputation overseas?”

Scarlett frowned at Bryce’s accusations, wondering if the board had discovered something. With this concern in mind, Scarlett began to pose indirect questions, seeking clarity on the situation.

“Mr. Payne, don’t you think that’s a bit arbitrary? I know Cedric well, and I’m certain he loves me wholeheartedly,” Scarlett said confidently.

Yet, Bryce continued to smile. “Lettie, how can you be so sure?”

She frowned and expressed her dissatisfaction. “Mr. Payne, this is my private affair. The board has no right to interfere, right?”

Just as she prepared to leave, Bryce gestured for her to stay. “Lettie, I’m just worried about you. Some people need to be examined carefully before you love them.”

Afterward, Bryce looked at the assistant beside him, who pulled out an envelope.

Scarlett gazed at the weighty envelope in her hand, momentarily puzzled. “What is this?”

Bryce simply smiled in response. He stopped her from immediately opening the envelope as a sign of respect. “This is your private matter. We should leave. We hope you’ll find a good solution after reading this. The board is watching.”

Grace and Cedric waited outside the room. When the board emerged, Grace and Cedric escorted them to the elevator.

Scarlett opened the envelope and was shocked when she saw its contents. She could hardly comprehend what she saw.

The photos revealed Cedric kissing multiple women. Additional images captured him bar-hopping with stunning ladies. The photos included some intimate shots.

She trembled as she wondered whether this was the evidence the board had uncovered. After a brief moment of silence, she heard footsteps approaching from behind. In a flurry, she quickly put the photos away.

Cedric anxiously asked, “Lettie, did they say anything?”

Scarlett’s eyes radiated deep contemplation. Sensing her intense gaze, Cedric was struck by curiosity and guilt. “Lettie, why are you looking at me that way?”

Upon hearing this, Scarlett also realized she had lost her cool. “Don’t worry. I’ll handle the issue with the board. Let’s head back now.”

Grace observed their conversation and noticed the problem. Scarlett’s demeanor appeared noticeably more frigid. She wondered if this change in attitude was connected to the situation.

When Cedric returned to the villa, Grace seized the moment to inquire, “What’s happening between you and Cedric? Is it connected to the board?” Upon observing Scarlett’s reaction, Grace knew her assumption was accurate.
