Chapter 93
Deroy fixed Cedric with an intense gaze. He asked, “How’s Scarlett doing now? Is there anything we can assist with?”
Cedric replied arrogantly, “Finally, you asked about Lettie’s situation. It seems like you don’t really care much about her.”
Leroy sighed. “I don’t want to argue with you.”
Just as he was about to check on Scarlett, Cedric stopped him. “Lettie is already sound asleep, so it’s best if you don’t go in. She’ll be perfectly fine even without…”
His intention was clear. He wanted Leroy to understand his status and position. He also wanted to make it clear that Leroy didn’t deserve to be with Scarlett.
Leroy glanced at Cedric silently. “I respect the family’s decision.”
After that, he left with Zoe. Cedric felt relieved. If Leroy had stayed, moving on to the next step would have been nearly impossible. Once he confirmed that Leroy was gone, he quickly sent a message to those waiting outside.
The next moment, the Reids, who were waiting outside, began to act. A group confidently entered the hospital.
Upon noticing the situation, the nurse at the service desk appeared confused. “Are you here for a doctor’s appointment? You must register first,”
After the nurse finished speaking, the Reids shouted, “Are you cursing us? We’re looking for someone. Where’s Xenia?”
The nurse swiftly alerted the security guard. The Reids remained unfazed, persistently inquiring about Xenia, which piqued the curiosity of those around them.
“There is no patient by the name of Xenia at our hospital. Are you sure you’re at the right place?” the head nurse clarified.
However, the Reids were determined not to back down. “How can that be? I saw Xenia enter with my own eyes.”
The nurses were astonished, their eyes wide with disbelief. “How can this be possible?”
The nurses were stunned by the Reids’ aggressiveness. “Could it be the woman we just treated?”
“Are you referring to the woman rescued by Dr. Olson?” Instantly, everyone understood that this could be the case.
“But she’s still in a coma, and her identity is unknown.”
The onlookers cast disapproving glances, but the Reids remained indifferent. “Where’s she now? Do you operate on patients without their consent in your hospital?”
The nurses were stunned. When she saw the Reids causing a commotion, she sensed that something was amiss. “Are you the patient’s family member?”
Four members of the Reid family were present, including Xenia’s parents and her two younger brothers. She immediately took out the invoice. “Xenia’s still in a coma. We need your assistance to cover the medical expenses.”
The Reids immediately expressed their discontent. “What exactly do you mean by this? Why are we expected to pay? Didn’t you save her on your own volition? Moreover, did Xenia even request you to save her?”
Zoe stood frozen, her heart racing in a moment of panic. “What do you mean? Isn’t Xenia your family?”
