Chapter 133

The Langley family was gathered in the living room.

"Has Christian not contacted us?" Margot asked anxiously.

"No, Mom, not yet," Derek replied. "Don't worry, Christian is very capable."

"That piece of trash from the Wyatt family will be helpless without the bodyguards the Wyatt family head provides him," Margot said. "I'm sure Christian will call with good news." Margot nodded, glancing at the assembled Langley family members.

"That guy is really annoying. Once we deal with him, all of you must keep quiet. Don't let David's family find out anything," she instructed solemnly. Everyone nodded.

"David and his family are riding high right now. The Langley family needs them to thrive. Let's be patient. Once everything stabilizes and the Langley family has grown, we won't have to care about their opinion," Margot whispered. "Simone is so beautiful. We need to maximize that. We failed to secure a marriage alliance with the Aquila family, but we can aim beyond Rivenesco—even for Central Harbor!"

The family members whispered amongst themselves, brainstorming further schemes to exploit David's family before discarding them.

After a long wait, there was still no word from Christian. Margot, impatient, told Derek to call him. Derek obeyed.

A phone rang. The Langley family was stunned. It seemed to be coming from inside the villa. Had Christian returned?

Overjoyed, they looked towards the front door. Their faces immediately hardened.

"What? Didn't expect me?" Dustin sneered from the doorway.

The Langley family was astonished. Dustin should have been dealt with already. His presence meant Christian had failed.

"Where's Christian? What did you do to my grandson?" Margot demanded menacingly.

"You can have him back," Dustin said softly, chuckling.

With a crash, a body flew through the doorway, landing in the middle of the room. It was Christian.

"Christian!" Margot cried, rushing to his side with the rest of the family.

Christian was deathly pale and motionless, not breathing. Margot checked him, her vision blurring. "You you killed Christian!"

Margot's cry of despair was filled with anguish.

"You're right. I killed him," Dustin said casually.

Margot, speechless for a moment, pointed at Dustin. She had sent Christian to eliminate him; even failure wouldn't have mattered, as she assumed Dustin's concern for Simone's family would prevent him from going too far. She never anticipated he would kill Christian so readily, and then bring the body home. "My grandson!" she wailed.

Unlike her treatment of Simone's family, Margot deeply loved Christian and couldn't accept his death.

"How could you kill him? You killed my son! I'll kill you!" Derek, enraged, grabbed a chair and lunged at Dustin.

Before he reached him, a Hell Guard intervened. The chair splintered, and Derek was thrown back, spitting blood.

"You overestimate yourself," Dustin said coldly. "Anyone else? I don't mind killing a few more." The Langley family was terrified, paralyzed with fear.

"Have you no respect for the law?" Margot shrieked, a mix of anger and agony.

"Now you talk about the law?" Dustin scoffed. The Langley family had attempted to kill him first; he was merely retaliating.

"I've tolerated your family, showing restraint for Simone and her family. It's a shame you don't appreciate it!" Dustin said coldly. "I'm letting you off the hook today because I don't want Simone to be sad. However, you will do something for me."

Dustin's gaze locked onto Margot, his face turning vicious. "From now on, Simone's father will head the Langley family. Obey him, or I'll make you vanish from Rivenesco."

Margot, furious, trembled. "Who do you think you are? You think you can order us around? Dream on!" She still didn't perceive Dustin as a threat.

"You killed my grandson! The Langley family will bring you to justice! We'll involve Lord Barbenheim!"

Dustin chuckled. Lord Barbenheim's family was more likely to seek revenge on the Langleys.

"So, you'd rather see your family destroyed than bow down?" Dustin asked grimly. Even if they had the backbone to refuse, he wouldn't show mercy. He wouldn't stand by while they manipulated David and his family.

"The Langley family will never bow to you!" Margot declared defiantly. "You're bold only because the Wyatt family head left you with those men. Without them, what can you do?"

Dustin grinned. The Langley family still hadn't grasped the situation. "The Langley family is insignificant in Rivenesco. Don't overestimate yourselves."

Dustin gestured to the Hell Guard. The Langley family's defiance ended further discussion.

"The moment you arrived, I notified the Rivenesco police. You'll face justice, murderer!" Margot yelled.

Hearing the police were coming, the Langley family rallied, no longer as afraid. They seemed to support Margot.

A voice called from outside, "Surround the place! Not a fly escapes! I want Dustin trapped!"

"Dustin, your arrogance ends now!" Margot taunted, her eyes gleaming.
