Chapter 263

Seeing that Chris wanted to say something more, Blake added, "I won't cause you any trouble. I'll park the car in a safe place. I brought a rescue team with me. They will lead me inside first, find where Ms. Wilder is, then come back to help you out."

Someone like Blake always had a backup plan, no matter what he did; he definitely wouldn’t act recklessly. Chris didn’t expect that Blake would go this far just for Indya. At this point, there was nothing much left to say. Blake had set off earlier than him and would arrive in about an hour, maybe even running into Mandy.

Chris glanced sideways at the window. "The reporter team from Hurricane Media includes someone named Mandy, who is the main media lead for this event. You can contact her after you arrive. You came for Indya, and she will help you get the results you want."

"It's not just for Indya. Anyway, let's not talk about it now."

The closer they got, the more intermittent the signal became. Ashley, sitting beside him, closed his eyes to rest. The car windows were foggy, obscuring the outside view. She slightly opened her eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"

Chris sighed. "Didn't I tell you about Blake? He came to the Wilder Group for Indya. I thought it was just a whim, but it turns out… Blake knows Indya is trapped inside Montvue Tower, too. He actually brought a rescue team with him and is almost there."

"Blake is a top celebrity with connections and abilities. Many film crews nearby also have rescue teams standing by."

"I really haven't had time to pay attention to Jessica and the others. Now that Blake is going, I feel a little relieved."

The area around the hillside district was muddy everywhere. The car couldn’t get near and had to stop far away. All the reporters from Hurricane Media wore nearly identical windproof suits. Several of them helped each other as they walked inside. Mandy directed the photographers to film all the surrounding conditions. They didn’t rely on communication towers but used WhatsApp. Hurricane Media had bought satellites specifically to ensure their reporters could get a signal worldwide and be the first on-site. In this situation, Hurricane Media was the only one maintaining a signal. Other TV stations arriving were useless.

"What we see here is the area around the hillside district. We haven't had time to go further inside. According to the local rescue team, there have been no casualties here. The local medical team is further inside, so we need to move forward to find out more."

With that said, Mandy turned and led a group of reporters inward, warning, "Be careful, watch your step." They had press credentials and were legally broadcasting without interfering with anyone. If they saw someone needing help, they would put down their expensive equipment and rush to the rescue. Reporters must be on the front line but never heartless—life is always more important than their work.

"The water hasn't stopped flowing."

The only completed building in Montvue Tower was a huge flat where all the inspection personnel stayed, and they were gathered there.

"As long as there's water, we can wait for the rescue team," said Shannon.

The members of the Wilder Group weren’t afraid, but many in the project team were worried. The building had lost power.

"Don't go out," Indya shouted when she saw someone trying to leave.
