Chapter 15
In a panic, her backpack fell under the seat.
Alarieka pounded Kieranโs shoulder like crazy. โKieran, are you out of your mind?โ
Kieran clamped around her waist, pinning her to the driverโs seat. He used one hand to hold her chin, his dark eyes sharply fixed on hers. โDo you think Iโm stupid?โ
Alarieka put her arm between them to keep a distance. โYou mistook me for Roschelle. Why canโt I feel disgusted?
โI said I wanted to keep my distance from you. Itโs you who crossed the line.
โAlso, have you found out who drugged you?โ
She grabbed Kieranโs neatly cut collar. Her cold eyes were moist with tears. โDonโt frame me again.โ
โAgain?โ Kieran looked at her coldly. โWhen have I ever framed you?โ
Alarieka thought, โHe framed me so many times in the past. How miserable my death was. Kieran and Roschelle stabbed me many times.โ
Suddenly, Kieran sneered and gripped her chin, โAlso, keeping distance? I never allowed it.โ
Alariekaโs eyes reddened instantly. โWhat do you mean?โ
Kieranโs voice was very calm. โBefore I figure things out, you canโt run away.โ
โAll in all, you still donโt doubt Roschelle,โ Alarieka said sarcastically. โItโs already obvious. Other than that glass of juice, where else is the doubt?โ
She smiled sarcastically at Kieran. โRoschelle succeeded, didnโt she?โ
Kieranโs expression darkened, his words unclear. โNo.โ
But Alarieka understood what he meant. โThis has nothing to do with me.โ
She pushed Kieran away hard, sat back in her seat, and picked up the backpack under the seat to hug it.
The rest of the journey was filled with silence. Kieran resumed his focus on the tablet, scrolling through documents.
Upon arriving at school, Alarieka swiftly got out of the car and left without a backward glance.
Meanwhile, inside the car, Kieranโs phone began to ring.
It was a call from Roschelle. โKier, are you feeling better now?โ
Kieran grunted softly.
After a pause, Roschelle spoke quietly, almost shyly, โKier, why didnโt you let me help you last night? I know you care about me, but I was willing toโฆโ
โRose,โ Kieran interrupted, his voice low, โdonโt think about it.โ
Roschelle fell silent.
After a while, she asked, โKier, why did you send Ms. Huston to school today? What did you talk about?โ
Kieran replied briefly, โNothing.โ
Roschelle suddenly said, โKier, do you suspect me of drugging you?โ
After a brief silence, Kieranโs voice softened. โNo, donโt worry.โ
Roschelle finally smiled in relief, โThen Iโm at ease. Iโll wait for you to come back.โ
Kieran grunted and hung up the phone.
He glanced at the school gate. Alarieka had already melted into the crowd.
Because of Clarissa, Alarieka was quite unpopular at school. She was mostly left out and had few friends.
This was an elite school, filled with spoiled kids. Since the Argent family was the top family in town, Clarissa had a bunch of followers.
After all, she was the real heiress of the Argent family.
As soon as Alarieka walked into the classroom, one of Clarissaโs followers started mocking, โWhatโs that smell? So bad. Did someone not take a bath for days and roll around in a trash can?โ
The other students laughed, their eyes drifting over to Alarieka with looks of mockery and disgust.
Alarieka walked by, expressionless, and kicked a foot deliberately placed in the aisle. She then sat down calmly.
Clarissa was irritated by her behavior.
She stood up, gathered her followers, and kicked over Alariekaโs desk.
Alarieka stepped back just in time to avoid the falling desk.
She looked up coldly. โWhat are you doing?โ
