Chapter 15

In a panic, her backpack fell under the seat.

Alarieka pounded Kieranโ€™s shoulder like crazy. โ€œKieran, are you out of your mind?โ€

Kieran clamped around her waist, pinning her to the driverโ€™s seat. He used one hand to hold her chin, his dark eyes sharply fixed on hers. โ€œDo you think Iโ€™m stupid?โ€

Alarieka put her arm between them to keep a distance. โ€œYou mistook me for Roschelle. Why canโ€™t I feel disgusted?

โ€œI said I wanted to keep my distance from you. Itโ€™s you who crossed the line.

โ€œAlso, have you found out who drugged you?โ€

She grabbed Kieranโ€™s neatly cut collar. Her cold eyes were moist with tears. โ€œDonโ€™t frame me again.โ€

โ€œAgain?โ€ Kieran looked at her coldly. โ€œWhen have I ever framed you?โ€

Alarieka thought, โ€œHe framed me so many times in the past. How miserable my death was. Kieran and Roschelle stabbed me many times.โ€

Suddenly, Kieran sneered and gripped her chin, โ€œAlso, keeping distance? I never allowed it.โ€

Alariekaโ€™s eyes reddened instantly. โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€

Kieranโ€™s voice was very calm. โ€œBefore I figure things out, you canโ€™t run away.โ€

โ€œAll in all, you still donโ€™t doubt Roschelle,โ€ Alarieka said sarcastically. โ€œItโ€™s already obvious. Other than that glass of juice, where else is the doubt?โ€

She smiled sarcastically at Kieran. โ€œRoschelle succeeded, didnโ€™t she?โ€

Kieranโ€™s expression darkened, his words unclear. โ€œNo.โ€

But Alarieka understood what he meant. โ€œThis has nothing to do with me.โ€

She pushed Kieran away hard, sat back in her seat, and picked up the backpack under the seat to hug it.

The rest of the journey was filled with silence. Kieran resumed his focus on the tablet, scrolling through documents.

Upon arriving at school, Alarieka swiftly got out of the car and left without a backward glance.

Meanwhile, inside the car, Kieranโ€™s phone began to ring.

It was a call from Roschelle. โ€œKier, are you feeling better now?โ€

Kieran grunted softly.

After a pause, Roschelle spoke quietly, almost shyly, โ€œKier, why didnโ€™t you let me help you last night? I know you care about me, but I was willing toโ€ฆโ€

โ€œRose,โ€ Kieran interrupted, his voice low, โ€œdonโ€™t think about it.โ€

Roschelle fell silent.

After a while, she asked, โ€œKier, why did you send Ms. Huston to school today? What did you talk about?โ€

Kieran replied briefly, โ€œNothing.โ€

Roschelle suddenly said, โ€œKier, do you suspect me of drugging you?โ€

After a brief silence, Kieranโ€™s voice softened. โ€œNo, donโ€™t worry.โ€

Roschelle finally smiled in relief, โ€œThen Iโ€™m at ease. Iโ€™ll wait for you to come back.โ€

Kieran grunted and hung up the phone.

He glanced at the school gate. Alarieka had already melted into the crowd.

Because of Clarissa, Alarieka was quite unpopular at school. She was mostly left out and had few friends.

This was an elite school, filled with spoiled kids. Since the Argent family was the top family in town, Clarissa had a bunch of followers.

After all, she was the real heiress of the Argent family.

As soon as Alarieka walked into the classroom, one of Clarissaโ€™s followers started mocking, โ€œWhatโ€™s that smell? So bad. Did someone not take a bath for days and roll around in a trash can?โ€

The other students laughed, their eyes drifting over to Alarieka with looks of mockery and disgust.

Alarieka walked by, expressionless, and kicked a foot deliberately placed in the aisle. She then sat down calmly.

Clarissa was irritated by her behavior.

She stood up, gathered her followers, and kicked over Alariekaโ€™s desk.

Alarieka stepped back just in time to avoid the falling desk.

She looked up coldly. โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€
