Clarissa burst out laughing. “So you came here for money, Alaricka? You’re this broke now? Came to my grandpa’s birthday party to ask for money?”

Alaricka snorted and turned around, holding out her palm to Clarissa. “Five million, how about you pay?”

Clarissa’s voice stopped for a second.

Alaricka knew that even if the Argent family was super rich, Clarissa, as a high school student, wouldn’t have as much as five million in cash. She just liked seeing Clarissa get put in her place.

Alaricka turned her head and raised an eyebrow at Kieran. “How about you do it?”

Wallace frowned. “The Argent family wouldn’t go back on this money. I told you a long time ago, once you got into college, I’d give it to you.”

Alaricka lowered her head and gave a sarcastic smile.

Before, under the control of the Argent family, she didn’t even have a chance to take exams, not to mention getting into college. She laughed lightly and said directly, “Sir Argent said before that the Argent family was my home forever, and he even said this in public, in front of the media and reporters, but now you’ve kicked me out.”

Marlene let out a soft laugh, a hint of contempt in her eyes, but she still kept a polite smile on her face. “She really came from a humble background. It was just five million, and she already freaked out,” Marlene smiled at Roschelle and sighed, “Asking her to move out of the Argent villa was definitely the right decision.”

As she spoke, she lifted her chin proudly and scoffed, “If you were even a tenth as considerate and thoughtful as Rose, I wouldn’t have had to move into that crappy little rental.”

Holter, who hadn’t shown any expression on his face, looked up and gave her a cold, scrutinizing look, frowning. “The Argent family couldn’t possibly owe you such a small amount of money, don’t be so petty in front of so many people, it’s embarrassing.”

Alaricka nodded, looking pretty moved, like she really agreed with what they said. Alaricka laughed and said, “Since it’s just a little money for you guys, then send it to me now. It’ll be quick, just a few seconds and I’ll get it. Once you send it, I won’t embarrass you anymore.”

Rolando’s face dropped right away.

The voices of their conversation weren’t quiet, and since Kieran got a lot of attention, quite a few people had already noticed what was going on.

Kieran said in a low voice, “I’ll have my assistant send it to you. Go back to your room now, change your clothes, and come back down.”

What Kieran said actually carried some weight.

Alaricka nodded with satisfaction. “Change clothes? No need, I remember, my room was cleared out by you guys a long time ago.”

“I took the money and left.”

Kieran’s narrow dark eyes looked at her calmly and said in a low voice, “Your room’s still there, the dress is in your room. Get changed and come down.”

As he spoke, he warned in a low voice, “Don’t even think about running.”

Alaricka looked out from the living room’s floor-to-ceiling window and saw a few servants from the villa already standing at the gate, keeping watch.

It was obvious he didn’t want to let her go.

She turned around and went upstairs, easily walking into her old room.

The room was still the same as before. Except for the things she took away, everything else hadn’t been touched. As soon as she walked into the room, Alaricka saw the dress laid out at the end of the bed. She just took one look and went to the chair in the room.

She didn’t plan to change her dress and go downstairs just to let the Argent family humiliate her again. She was just waiting for the birthday banquet to end so she could leave.
