Debra understood what Andrew was saying. Juan never talked about his parents. In her past life, Debra had tried hard to learn about Juan’s past. After Juan’s parents passed away, he became the focus of the Nichols family’s grooming.

Debra said, “I still don’t quite understand. The Buchan family is just the maternal home of Claudia. They can’t just send someone to take over the Nichols Group.”

Andrew asked, “Are you aware of their relationship with Melody Nichols?”

Debra thought about Melody’s possessiveness over the Nichols family, Juan, and his father. She controlled even their marriages. Claudia was the daughter of Melody’s cousin.

Andrew said, “Melody has absolute control over the Nichols family. She’d never let it fall into your hands. My sources tell me she has sent people to notify the Buchans. They’re expected to find someone to replace Juan.”

Debra was taken aback. “But I’ve never heard they have any suitable heirs of this generation.”

“But they have an heiress. Her name is Theda Buchan. A very capable lady.”

Debra didn’t recall much about this woman, but anyone praised by Andrew was surely not to be underestimated. She wondered what kind of person Theda Buchan was.

The next day, a woman in a vibrant red dress walked out of the airport. She took off her sunglasses, revealing a pair of captivating eyes that held a sharp edge.

“Hello, Ms. Buchan, Mrs. Nichols Sr. is waiting for you to discuss matters.”

“I’m going to visit Andrew in the Potter Mansion first.”

“But…”

“Don’t follow me. I’ll go alone.”

Theda put her luggage in the trunk and drove off, leaving the bodyguards in the cold wind.

Absent all night, Erica and Randy sneaked into the house early the next morning. Debra cleared her throat, startling them. In her pajamas, she sat on the sofa and shook a cup in her hand. “Why don’t you tell me? What kind of snack kept you out for a day and a night?”

Erica glanced at Randy, who happened to look at her at the same time. Then they replied in unison, “Watched a movie.”

“Got drunk.”

Debra nodded in realization, placing a bill in front of Randy. “Your hotel bill was sent to Marion. You know he’s broke, so he asked me to find out what this bill is about.”

Randy nervously swallowed.

Erica quickly came up with an excuse. “The other night he got drunk and fought with a dog on the street. I took him to a hotel, but I didn’t bring my wallet.”
