Chapter 1027
โYeah, we got into a fight with a dog. Neither of us had our wallets,โ Randy echoed.
Debra tilted her head, her expression suddenly clear. โSo, you went out for a midnight snack, got drunk, fought a dog on the way, and then booked a hotel room?โ
โExactly.โ
โThatโs right.โ
Neither Randy nor Erica seemed to realize how ridiculous their story sounded.
Debra nodded slowly. โAnd you two shared a room.โ
Randy and Erica both froze.
But Debra wasnโt going to let them off. โRandy, you hid your thoughts until the perfect moment,โ
Erica blushed with embarrassment and glared at him.
โThis is all your fault,โ she huffed, storming upstairs.
Randy paused and showed a pitiful look at Debra. โPlease, donโt tell Marion.โ
Then he hurried to chase after Erica. Debra shook her head helplessly. โThese two are truly a pair of bickering lovebirds.โ
She placed the receipt on the table. Just as she stood up, the sharp sound of high heels echoed from the entrance. A tall, elegant figure then came into view.
Theda removed her sunglasses, giving Debra a glance that was both cool and assessing. That glance felt strangely familiar to Debra. There was a quiet confidence in it, mixed with a touch of indifference. That kind of temperament was something they shared.
โIโm here to see Andrew,โ Theda said, smiling as she extended her hand toward Debra. โYou must be Mrs. Houston.โ
Debraโs eyes drifted to Thedaโs outstretched hand. It wasnโt the hand of a pampered heiress. The palm had a roughness to it, calloused from years of hard work.
โMs. Buchan?โ Debra asked tentatively.
She hadnโt been certain of Thedaโs identity at first glance. But Andrew had mentioned it just yesterday. With all the turmoil surrounding the Nichols family lately, it wasnโt far-fetched to think the Buchans might step in.

What surprised Debra was how quickly Theda had shown up.
โLooks like Andrew mentioned me to you,โ Theda said, raising an eyebrow. โThe moment I saw you, Ms. Frazier, I felt like weโd met before. Almost like in a past life.โ
The last part of her words wiped the polite smile off Debraโs face.
Theda chuckled and withdrew her hand. โJust a joke.โ
Her gaze shifted upward to the second floor just as Barton came down the stairs. He stopped in front of her and said, โMs. Buchan, our master is waiting for you in the study.โ
โAlright.โ Theda gave Debra a courteous nod before following Barton upstairs.
For some reason, Debra couldnโt shake the feeling that Theda knew her secrets. The way Theda had looked at her suggested it.
Debra shook her head, brushing off the thought. After all, the idea of rebirth was absurd. No one would believe it.
In the study, Andrew was sitting at his desk reading documents. The sharp scent of disinfectant hit Theda as soon as she stepped into the room.
She wrinkled her nose. โYouโre sick again?โ
