Chapter 1048

โ€œReally?โ€

โ€œYeah. Spitting it out would be uncivilized.โ€

โ€œGood to hear. Is there anything else?โ€

โ€œNot really. Uhโ€ฆโ€

โ€œ+25 BONUS Has he had dinner yet?โ€

The sudden question puzzled Barton. โ€œNot yet.โ€

โ€œPerfect. None of us have eaten yet. Iโ€™ll invite him to join us in the dining hall.โ€

โ€œErโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll cook.โ€

An apology should come with sincerity. Besides, Erica had told her earlier that Andrew was tough on the outside but soft on the inside. Persistence was the key.

โ€œYou donโ€™t have to trouble yourself.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s no trouble. None of us have eaten anyway.โ€ Debra dismissed him with a wave and hurried downstairs.

Randy and Erica came back from their candlelight dinner. Debra grabbed them and sat them down in the living room.

โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€ Randy asked, confused. โ€œIsnโ€™t your wedding banquet still a few days away? Are you throwing a feast early?โ€

โ€œSomething like that. Iโ€™ll cook for us.โ€

Erica chimed in, โ€œBut we already ate.โ€

โ€œOne more meal wonโ€™t hurt.โ€ Debra dashed off toward the kitchen without giving them a chance to refuse.

Randy turned to Erica. โ€œWhatโ€™s up with her? Itโ€™s 8 p.m. already. By the time sheโ€™s done, will it even still be dinner?โ€

โ€œMaybe sheโ€™s trying to apologize,โ€ Erica replied.

Deep down, she thought it might be better if Debra just groveled instead of cooking.

Debra quickly prepared food in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Barton wheeled Andrew downstairs.

Everyone gathered around the dining table.

โ€œQuite the crowd tonight,โ€ Andrew remarked in a flat tone, his gaze drifting toward the kitchen where Debra was bustling about. โ€œI didnโ€™t expect her to cook on her own.โ€

Erica laughed dryly, praying Debra would finish cooking quickly. She couldnโ€™t stand sitting at the same table as Andrew and his frosty demeanor.

Time ticked by. By 10 p.m., the group was still at the dining table, waiting.

Just then, Marion came back, looking exhausted after another long day preparing for the wedding. He frowned at the scene. โ€œAre you bullying Debra?โ€

Randy and Erica frantically shook their heads.

Debra finally came out of the kitchen, carrying two dishes. She brightened upon seeing Marion. โ€œYouโ€™re back. Wash your hands and eat.โ€

Marion had already eaten earlier during the wedding dish tasting. But seeing the effort Debra had put in, he smiled and said, โ€œCall me lucky. I havenโ€™t had dinner yet.โ€

Randy almost blurted out the truth; but one sharp look from Marion shut him up.
