Chapter 1048
โReally?โ
โYeah. Spitting it out would be uncivilized.โ
โGood to hear. Is there anything else?โ
โNot really. Uhโฆโ
โ+25 BONUS Has he had dinner yet?โ
The sudden question puzzled Barton. โNot yet.โ
โPerfect. None of us have eaten yet. Iโll invite him to join us in the dining hall.โ
โErโฆ Iโll cook.โ
An apology should come with sincerity. Besides, Erica had told her earlier that Andrew was tough on the outside but soft on the inside. Persistence was the key.
โYou donโt have to trouble yourself.โ
โItโs no trouble. None of us have eaten anyway.โ Debra dismissed him with a wave and hurried downstairs.
Randy and Erica came back from their candlelight dinner. Debra grabbed them and sat them down in the living room.
โWhatโs going on?โ Randy asked, confused. โIsnโt your wedding banquet still a few days away? Are you throwing a feast early?โ
โSomething like that. Iโll cook for us.โ
Erica chimed in, โBut we already ate.โ
โOne more meal wonโt hurt.โ Debra dashed off toward the kitchen without giving them a chance to refuse.
Randy turned to Erica. โWhatโs up with her? Itโs 8 p.m. already. By the time sheโs done, will it even still be dinner?โ
โMaybe sheโs trying to apologize,โ Erica replied.
Deep down, she thought it might be better if Debra just groveled instead of cooking.
Debra quickly prepared food in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Barton wheeled Andrew downstairs.

Everyone gathered around the dining table.
โQuite the crowd tonight,โ Andrew remarked in a flat tone, his gaze drifting toward the kitchen where Debra was bustling about. โI didnโt expect her to cook on her own.โ
Erica laughed dryly, praying Debra would finish cooking quickly. She couldnโt stand sitting at the same table as Andrew and his frosty demeanor.
Time ticked by. By 10 p.m., the group was still at the dining table, waiting.
Just then, Marion came back, looking exhausted after another long day preparing for the wedding. He frowned at the scene. โAre you bullying Debra?โ
Randy and Erica frantically shook their heads.
Debra finally came out of the kitchen, carrying two dishes. She brightened upon seeing Marion. โYouโre back. Wash your hands and eat.โ
Marion had already eaten earlier during the wedding dish tasting. But seeing the effort Debra had put in, he smiled and said, โCall me lucky. I havenโt had dinner yet.โ
Randy almost blurted out the truth; but one sharp look from Marion shut him up.
