Debra paused, and Juan added, “I know you and Marion are getting married, so happy wedding.”

“Thank you,” she replied without looking back.

Juan shook his head and smiled bitterly as she walked away without hesitation.

Theda came up, surprised to see the agreement in his hand. “She just gave it to you like that?”

“She never cared about this stuff,” Juan replied, handing it to her. “The Nichols Group’s future depends on you now.”

“I’ll do my best,” Theda replied. “But if Debra knew taking over the company wasn’t in her best interest, would she thank you for disrupting everything?”

Juan remained silent, and she lamented, “What a shame! She probably sees you as a traitor now.”

Before leaving, Juan glanced at her. “Just focus on your issues here.”

Theda wasn’t offended. The shares were in her hands now. That was all that mattered.

Outside, Debra got into Marion’s car. He said, “I saw someone go in.”

“Who was it?” Debra asked with feigned ignorance.

Marion turned his head away. “You know the answer.”

Erica stopped teasing him. “I only returned the agreement to him, and my request was for him to be silent about Hunter’s death.”

That was her goal. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have sought to meet Juan.

As Marion steered the car to another road, she asked, “Where are we going? This isn’t the way back.”

“We’re going to try on the wedding dress.”

“Wedding dress?”

“The wedding’s two days away. Can you stop thinking about work for a moment?”

Ever since they returned from their overseas vacation, she had been caught up in her tasks and forgotten about the wedding.

“No wonder.”

“Huh?”

“No wonder Juan wished me a happy wedding earlier.”

Their car pulled up outside the Houston Mansion.

Debra wasn’t surprised, having expected to try her wedding dress in a store.

She linked her arm with Marion’s and whispered, “Caleb hasn’t moved the bridal shop home, has he?”

“Nah. He only had a special cloakroom prepared.”

Debra was relieved that they hadn’t made things too extravagant, but her jaw dropped when she laid eyes on the so-called cloakroom.

The whole place took around 600 square meters on three floors. All kinds of wedding dresses were displayed, with attendants and models ready to help Debra try them on.

The models all had similar figures to Debra, saving her the trouble of trying on each dress.

“There must be 100 wedding dresses?”

“A thousand.”

Just as Debra was feeling overwhelmed, several attendants approached her, bowing respectfully. “Madam, what we have here are the main wedding dresses. The second floor houses the reception dresses. You will wear 12 different outfits during the event, and you’re free to choose anything you like.”
