Chapter 1078
โTwelve outfits? Are we hosting a flowing banquet?โ Debra was astounded.
Marion smiled indulgently. โThen we wonโt change.โ
โYou canโt skip that part,โ Calebโs voice suddenly came, and he hobbled in with his cane. The attendants quickly stepped aside.
Caleb smiled and walked over to Debra. โThatโs not too many. Marionโs mother did the same at her wedding. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and youโll have the best of everything.โ
โWell, this is my second.โ
โThere wasnโt even a ceremony. It doesnโt count.โ
Debra was amused, and Marion chimed in, โChanging outfits takes time and energy. She looks great without changing anyway.โ
โWhat do you know?โ Caleb almost poked his cane in Marionโs face. โItโs the custom. No negotiation.โ
With that, he signaled for the attendants to bring the dresses. Soon enough, they brought a wedding dress for Debra. โThis is a designer piece with a five-meter-long train.โ
โHow long?โ Debra thought she had misheard.
One of the attendants replied, โFive-meter-long train and a six-meter-long veil.โ
Caleb urged, โGo ahead and try it on. If itโs not grand enough, Iโll have them adjust it.โ
โThanks, Grandpa.โ Debra walked up to the dress.
The dress was beautiful. Any woman would be attracted to it, but putting it on would be exhausting, not to mention there were twelve of them.
โDonโt just stand there, kid. Go try on your suit in that room,โ Caleb said, poking Marion with his cane. Marion reluctantly went to change, and Caleb shook his head.
In this aspect, Marion couldnโt match up to his father, Dwayne. Back then, to please Itzel, Dwayne accompanied her to try on dozens of outfits.
About ten minutes later, Debra came out of the fitting room. The wedding dress was a bit complicated, but it looked amazing. It cinched at her waist perfectly, and one of the attendants marveled, โMadam, this dress looks amazing on you. Mr. Houston will love it.โ
โWhat is Caleb?โ
โHe left for a bit. He said this is a young coupleโs fun, so he wonโt interfere.โ
Just then, Marion walked out of the changing room. He usually dressed formally but never wore a tie. This time, in a black suit with a tie, he looked striking. His tall, broad frame made the suit fit him perfectly, adding a touch of quiet elegance.
โMr. Houston, what do you think of Mrs. Houstonโs dress?โ asked the attendant.
Marion looked up at Debra and smiled softly, โGorgeous!โ
