Chapter 1081
Erica pressed Debra down into the seat. Debra sighed, โWeโre already on the plane. There is no escape for me.โ
โThatโs not what Iโm worried about,โ Erica replied. โYou know, if I donโt complete the task, Caleb will punish me.โ
โAt least tell me where we are headed,โ Debra insisted.
โItโs not far. Youโve been there before,โ Erica hinted.
โIโve been there?โ Debra thought for a moment. โIs it overseas?โ
Erica shook her head. Debra tried again, โFlesta?โ
Erica shook her head again. โNope. I wonโt say anything.โ
โThen it must be Orkgate.โ
Debra hadnโt traveled much in her life, and Erica knew the few places she had been to. Besides these three locations, she hadnโt been anywhere else. Besides, the backdrop in the trailer didnโt suggest it was on a desolate island.
Erica covered Debraโs mouth and mumbled, โI didnโt say anything. You figured it out yourself. Donโt blame me for spoiling the surprise.โ
Debra shook her head. โI donโt hate Orkgate, but why did Caleb choose it to be the wedding site?โ
โWhy else? Orkgate has the most luxurious castle. To outsiders, Orkgate might seem chaotic, but itโs a city of indulgence. For rich folks, it is the best place to retire,โ Erica continued. โCaleb spent a fortune on this. Everything there is crazily expensive.โ
โLet me guess. Is Drake setting the price?โ Debra asked.
Erica nodded vigorously. Debra regretted not taking more from Drake when she had the chance. Now he was taking every opportunity to fleece her.
Far away in Orkgate, a man was pleading on the ground, โMr. Lowe, please spare us.โ Drake looked at the factory head with disdain. He waved his hand, and the man was dragged away.
Kale stepped forward. โBoss, itโs about dawn.โ
โDo a clean job. Donโt let anyone see it,โ Drake ordered, wiping the blood from his hands and tossing the handkerchief aside. โWhat time is Debra and Marionโs wedding?โ
โThe official time is in the morning,โ Kale replied.
โOfficial time? Since when do weddings have official times?โ Drake frowned.
โThe Houston family announced it,โ Kale replied. โTheyโre taking it very seriously. If we go there and make a scene, they will lose face big time.โ
Drake glanced at him. โWhatโs the point of making Marion lose face?โ
โIsnโt it meaningful?โ Kale wondered aloud. Drake had always wanted to teach Marion a lesson. Now this was a great chance.
โThey must be well-guarded. I donโt think weโll get anything out of it,โ Drake reasoned.
โThatโs true,โ Kale agreed.
โWhy donโt we steal the bride instead?โ Drake suggested.
โStealing the bride?โ Kale was dumbfounded.
